That doesn't seem to benefit us, given how cheaply we sell our match tickets for. We have one of the lowest match day revenues in the Championship. It is therefore more important than ever that we get a boost from shirt sponsorship and similar. The Snoop connection and advertising to the American market is now vital. What many viewed as a gimmick is now far more important. Buying the stadium adds to the equation. Let's hope Swansea council can get a move on. The fan zone will help.

I will have to wait and see what is in the detail and what can be set expenses academy, maintenance, women's team ect.
There could well be a delay with the fan zone.
I think you will be hard to find many at the club agreeing with your last sentence.

I'm the only one and it doesn't bother me. I met him about 10 times in the last season. I speak as I find. Meanwhile, it's our best finish in a long while, attendances are up, we have a long term plan for the stadium and fan zone while getting some serious financial shareholders in place. Each to their own.

I thought you are a supporter not "at the club". Possibly explains everything.

I am a supporter. We just use the same entrance, so I often see him in the lobby. Once was at the fan forum and once at the awards dinner, which anyone could go to and talk to Tom. He also comes up to the Alan Curtis lounge now and again with potential sponsors, so I chat to him then. Anyone at the fan forum will know that he doesn't avoid any questions. They will also know that Matos turned up 2 hours late, yet Tom took the blame and even paid the Kev Johns imposed fine for Matos being late! If you want to chat with him it's easy enough. After the game the players all come out to sign autographs by the reception entrance. Tom comes out that way as well. It's normally about an hour and a half after the final whistle, so patience is needed. However if 5 year old kids can do it, I guess anyone can.

Not to think he’s the next Huw Jenkins wheeling and dealing players and managing agents. Thats not his role. People seem to be thinking a bit wobbly if they think we have said he isn’t a nice guy whatever that means. He has an antecedents that cannot be ignored in doing elsewhere what seems to be happening at Swansea.
Cuddling up to a guy who has his PR head on when it’s match day is not our issue. It’s been openly reported, and the evidence is clearly there in how he now works at the club. That’s the point not some handshaking exercise. It’s nothing personal we deal in fact and those facts are right in front of anyone who wants to have a look.
When you run a website with nigh on a million views a month you need quality information from trusted or in this case concerned sources. There’s no animosity, there’s no judgement just assessment on the facts. I worked for many years in legal arenas with a whole host of people described as nice guys. Everyone has someone who can say that about them. But sadly this isn’t the case, it’s the way the individual performs, nothing more. And with no recruiting specialists nothing is performing.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.
On the actual thread topic. I will add on the new system voted for that the Swans must have a high expectation of new commercial revenue coming into the club generated by the majority ownership.

Do we know when this big new sponsor is due to come in? I would have thought it would be in place for the new season given how long ago Gorringe alluded to it.

I'm sure i've heard him mention a couple of times that there is a commercial deal in the pipeline that is bigger than anything the Swans have had before.

He did say that the Swans passed their previous year totals for commercial revenue by last Xmas. There will certainly be sponsorships of the new fan zone and I’m certain that will be with big companies looking for revenue from 1,700 people wanting food, drinks and the like when it opens. That will certainly increase the Swans commercial turnover massively.
There seems to be rumblings of new revenue coming in from this summer, but news is of that isn’t known. Whatever happens you can see why the Swans are happy with th change of revenue rules coming in.
The club I think will play it down.
