If McLaren and co were to go now, the settlement would be minimal.
Either a new manager comes in on more or less what we have been paying McLaren, or (as suggested elsewhere) Chris Ramsey - already on the payroll - steps up.

Why would the settlement be minimal. But whatever it is it is still money leaving the club and that has to be earned not subsidised by the owners many have said we are even now close to breaking FFP. | | | |

That says a lot more about the managers we go for rather than the decision to get rid of a bad one.

At a club like QPR you simply don’t need a DOF. McLaren should have been given a clear remit from the owners and likely expenditure for players. I cannot believe he would have come here if he’d known he wouldn’t be making new signings.
Les should go and McLaren should deal directly with the board. Hoos can do the excel spreadsheets

McClaren has been given a clear remit though, if idiots like me on the outside could work out we'd stopped spending money I'm sure McClaren could work it out, he even said in his early interviews he was in to work with the players rather than made signings.
The 10 years before Les came in show exactly why we needed a DOF, when we had them in the past (Paladini and Rigg) they were usually people who worked very closely with agents and cost us a fortune. It was always going to take years to fix a decade of complete miss management and a near miracle for anyone to achieve it.
McClaren having to deal direct with the board won't make a jot of difference to how he's set his teams up which has been abysmal so far. | | | |

Everyone seems to be labouring under the misapprehension that we have the money to pay off SMC and attract proven managers, pay them what they are worth and get them to operate with no transfer budget. That is not just a case of losing touch with reality but evidence that reality isn't even a factor in your thinking. Worst case scenario is that we are stuck with what we have for the immediate future and whatever division we are playing in we struggle. We are on one of QPR's cyclical downturns so strap in and ride it out. We have survived two such downturns since I have been watching QPR and I have no reason to not believe that I may still have one more ride on the happy train before shuffling off. After the Ale Faurlin debacle it was obvious that the League wanted to pay us back and that is why they invented FFP; to make sure that they could disrupt the fan base, put us in financial trouble and eventually see us go out of business, it's up to the fans to make sure that doesn't happen.  |  |
