Why does everyone hate Liverpool so much? I think Man City winning the Prem having spent Billions is a bit sad in a way.... Not really that bothered tbh but being a QPR fan I suppose I always root fo the underdog.

They have more plastic fans than most other teams and we probably all work with people who have never been anywhere near Liverpool, but they choose to support them.
And just imagine how much these muppets will be crowing if they ever win anything major again.
The phone in shows are full of these tw@ts talking bullocks about the reds.

There was even 1 muppet last month who rang up 606 and said that Man City don’t deserve to win the title as they can’t fill their ground out like Liverpool do.
I think I’d prefer 40,000 proper city fans than the tourists at Anfield to win the premier league.

And of course for 1976.Come on Citeh.

They cost the great QPR team of the early nineties of being in Europe becayse of heysel and it’s aftermath and before that they cost the team off 88 of being in Europe because of it as well
Also Luton, Oxford , Wimbledon were denied placings because of them
As the years have gone on they have floushrished whilst the rest have gone down the leagues
And they still deny its was their fault
Fcuk them , if you were around in 86 dagleish was the most ungrateful sour, nasty , snidy Little git of a manager a terrible loser ,

This and also ToastR's post above. The media have had this never ending wÄ…nkfest over them for decades and their supporters are insufferable and arrogant. Did anyone see the clip on the news the other night speaking to a couple of them before the game in Barcelona? Deluded doesn't cover it. I'd have loved the reporter to have found the same two after the game, no doubt crying into their San Miguel.

BBC described it as the most exciting title race. As in better than 2011/12 when United won 1-0 at Sunderland on the last day and City scored twice in the last 5 minutes against QPR to pip their cross city rivals to the title.

Not sure it will have a moment to rival Aguero 's last minute winner. But it's probably the most competitive title race I can remember in terms of the back and forth between City and Liverpool.

Credit to both teams- Liverpool could hit 97pts losing only one game all season and not win the league. City on course to have won 18 out of 19 games in the second half of the season.

Whatever you think of both teams, that level of consistency in a title race is unprecedented.

Not sure how scoring two late goals when the other game had finished is better than this run so far..

Maybe if Liverpool manage to do it late on then it might be up there but that victory against us is still ahead...

I guess we've got the rest of the week with the BBC and Sky building the final day up into a frenzy so ideally, City will score a couple of goals inside the first 5 minutes and then it will all be over bar the shouting... I'm sure Sky will still build some spin on it though...

Their supporters are ignorant, the club got English clubs banned for 5 years which meant clubs like Wimbledon, Luton, Coventry City all missed out on a once in a lifetime opportunity to play in a European competition. They get penalties on tap and they have this insane belief that they are the best supporters in the world? They're a bunch of w@nkers.

Witnessing our 3-2 comeback was one of the greatest nights of my life at LR.

The only thing I have against Liverpool this season is that they are called Liverpool,
I like their manager and they have played some great football, but saying that they blow it themselves, were 7 points ahead on MC around Xmas, and they failed to beat MU.

I care nothing for MC winning it.

Top 2 way ahead of the rest. Spurs have had the burden of playing at Wembley but will be paying off the new stadium mortgage. Arsenal showing that things are not easier with a new manager. Hoping Chelski get a 50 point deduction for financial irregularities. Man United have players of high calibre strolling around.
Wolves have done well and their manager should be given manager of the year considering difference between Championship and Premier League.

tbh I hated them back in the 70s and 80s and thought it was funny how they have never won the Prem but I cant root for Man City because of the 'buying the Premier League' thang.
I also like Klopp who has done a fantastic job at Liverpool and deserves to win something.

I also like Klopp. He about the best thing in the Premiership.

I also think its better if the Premiership doesn't have the same team winning it year in year out for interest sake. although perhaps if Citeh won it 8 times in a row like Celtic, someone might try and change it... sod it - c'mon Citeh!

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

I want Liverpool to win it. I really like Klopp and Liverpool are at least a proper football team.I hate the fact that City have spent and are spending so much money that even the rest of the big 6 can't compete.

Man City have spent £65m his season, the vast majority (£57m) on one signing Mahrez who has been a bit part player. Their net spend is about £20m

Liverpool have spent approx £155m and their net spend this season is approx £123m.

So who's trying to buy the Premier League?

I like Klopp too, but Liverpool have bought their way to mediocrity for decades and before that they bought their way to success. So, I see little difference there.

I would also, to be fair, excuse Liverpool one thing - at least partially: I don't buy that the European ban was solely on them. By the time of Heysel, English clubs in Europe had been violent, racist thugs for decades and Heysel could have happened if Chelsea, Spurs, United or others were playing Juve that day.

The ban was the result of many factors on the day and many, many shameful incidents in the years beforehand. So, while they were worse than most, particularly at home, they were just one culpable club of many.

City have accumulated a vast squad of players over a long time. So adding one or 2 players every window is simply topping up a massively talented squad.... Here's their subs bench from yesterdays game... Danilo, Stones, Sané, Mahrez, Otamendi, Gabriel Jesus, Muric.

Can you tell me 1 club that has won the premier league that hasn’t bought it?Apart from Leicester, every club has or would spend millions to improve their squads.
The scousers paid £75 million to buy their attempt at the title, and without him they’d be down with moan Utd and Arsenal. It would’ve been better if they’d won it in 2014 with a few home grown players, but they’re just like the rest now,so feck them.

And Liverpool havent? They have spent huge sums every year Klopp has been there. Mané, Wijnaldum, Firmino, Van Dijk, Salah, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alisson, Keita, Fabinho all signed for £40m +

They lucked out in Barcelona paying £120m for Coutinho making about £110m profit on him.

I agree with this Brian. Loads of English clubs had caused regular trouble abroad, and with the trouble that always followed the national side, Heysel was the final straw. On the continent, hooliganism was called the English disease for a reason. And yes, I know we're angels compared to many others now, but we were out on our own back then in terms of regularly causing trouble at away games.

I'm torn - owing to the millions of Liverpool glory hunters, I find them missing out quite funny, but I know a few Scouse LFC fans that I like, and City's owners/funding make me want to puke, so I don't know what I want to happen. Fu ck it - I'm going with a Liverpool win.

Need to look at net spend over a few years for the full picture.

Man City have a net spend of £-563.24m over the last five years.

Liverpool have a net spend of £-193.58m over the last five years.

All clubs spend money. Some more than others.I’m glad it’s them spending it rather than that crap down the road who have been bankrolled by gangster money for the last 15 years.Or moan Utd,Who lumped all the debt used to buy the club by the glaziers was owed by the club.

I wish it was a fair even league but those days are long long gone and will never come back, mores the pity.

All clubs spend money but surely it’s not right if the top club have a net spend nearly 3x that of second place over a five year period.

Fcuk the Prem and the Champions League - means nothing to me.

However if pushed I’m wanting City to win
I don’t watch the European games but would always look to see the English teams lose.

Pretty soon we’ll have the Euro Super League and “the top six” can gladly fcuk off as far as I’m concerned

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Completely agree about the wealthiest clubs joining a European league. The TV deal would take an absolute hammering, but we would still have a TV deal as big as or bigger than most of the biggest leagues in Europe. If club's like Bournemouth and Fulham could no longer outbid all but about 10-15 clubs in continental Europe, then that wouldn't be a problem for me.

Domestically, I don't think it would make much difference to crowds. At the moment, kids who don't come from families where they're taken to games, tend to attach themselves to a successful side; as witnessed by the amount of Man City and Chelsea shirts you now see all over the country. Kids who are taken to games will still support Watford, Lincoln and Derby, whether or not Man Utd are playing in the Premier League. And in terms of match going, I would sooner go to Wigan away than Man Utd and I'd sooner see us play Everton at home than Everton; more chance of getting a result, less plastics in the ground and less favouritism from the officials.
