Random players that you remember fondly on 13:17 - May 5 with 757 views | johncharles | David McCreery. Lot of talk nowadays about players having a good engine. David non-stop. Even when he wasn’t having a good game he harassed the opposition mercilessly.

Martin Busby used to run a pub over Henley way, had Qpr programmes all over the wall. This was about thirty years ago before anyone asked me where exactly!

Random players that you remember fondly on 19:59 - May 5 with 642 views | terryb | I can't recall anybody mentioning Paul Goddard. What a player! Docherty/Gregory selling Allen & Goddard in the same summer was a real bummer! Frank Clarke & Gary Waddock are another two & form the 2000's Dexter Blackstock.

Wouldn't call Goddard random! Gordon Hill Rachid Harkouk, met him outside the ground once for an autograph and he was so enthusiastic.

Paul Goddard is a slightly forgotten man though, too good and well-known to count as a Cult/Unsung Hero but never quite getting the recognition of a Currie, Stainrod or Byrne (let alone Marsh or Bowles). Scored lots of goals but obviously not as many as Allen, Bannister or Ferdinand, so doesn't often appear in All-Time Best XIs etc. Really good player and I was always happy to see him turning out for opposition teams, don't remember him saying a bad word against the club. Agree with TerryB that selling him and Allen the same summer was a hell of a blow at the time

I was going to mention Thorpedo. He had a decent games per goal ratio but got a bad injury and was out for months. Then, less than half an hour into his comeback game, he got absolutely clattered by Tomas Repka and was out for another stretch, before being moved on. I felt really sorry for him because I thought he was a decent player who fell victim to some terrible luck.
| "Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1." |
