with the mixed mesages coming out i doubt they havent thought about fans who might be in a high tier travelling to a game in a lower tier ,

If you are in tier 3 you are not supposed to be travelling anywhere so shouldn't be going to a game, I say that as someone in tier 3 who is now claiming to live in Windsor as it's up the road from slough and in tier 2.

I doubt anyone is going to be on the gate checking where you came from though. Like all the rules just don't be an arse with it and it should be OK

Well they said that they weren't going to have areas within areas, so all 32 London Boroughs will be treated the same I think.

Obviously pros and cons to it, but I think they needed to have more specificity to it than that. Same for the whole country, considering how whole regions are on the brink economically.

Mate, I think you poor sods are still gonna be stuck in lockdown in 2054. What a wear-out.

We're Tier 3 in Bristol, which is a ballache. What a sh itter.

Let me know if you need me to send you a food parcel from Bath. We’re running dangerously low on foie gras, but I have it on good authority Waitrose will be getting some in soon.

This is just the first step , the tiers are reviewed every 14 days , as the vaccine rolls out and the care home numbers come down we could get promoted to tier 1 in the new year.

Up to 50% capacity by the end of the season I hope , so only around 20k of us get to go to the playoff final ... sorry Aunt Nelly

Has anyone seen any official line from DCMS/Govt about fans travelling between tiers? FWIW I am in tier 2 thus travelling to London also in tier 2 seems plausible, although I havent read any of the regulations first hand.

Travel within tier MUST be fine otherwise pointless saying 2,000 can go.

As for the tier 1 as I've been saying travel to/from tier 1 has been happening now for players, officials, stadium workers etc already and will continue.

But as you have said Dave there are contradictions aplenty.

Says Grassroots team sport IS allowed in all 3 tiers, but in tier 3 that is not mentioned as one of the reasons allowed for travel for example?

As you say just have to be sensible and try to stick to the rules as much as possible I guess.

Sorry Dave, just looked at tier 3 again and this might be of interest you because it does say

"you can continue to travel to venues or amenities which are open, but should aim to reduce the number of journeys you make where possible"

but then again as someone says above the next bullet point is advising essential travel only! Who knows?!!!

I fully accept I am fretting, and probably unnecessarily as ultimately there's not a lot I can do about the situation, but dang nabbit I want to go back to the KPF so much

yeah clear as mud. For me if I manage to get a ticket to a game I'll just book a COVID test and as long as I'm negative will self isolate before going to the game and make sure I'm not spreading anything.

That's a very responsible approach Dave I must say.

I want to know why I can't go to a pub and just f'kin drink.

What difference does it make?

Seems they want to get rid of traditional boozers and keep the gastro-poindexder magnets open.

1,000 people allowed to go to the theatre indoors in my town but not 1 person allowed to go in my local pub unbelieveable

Tier 2

Not sure they can put Borough A in Tier 3 but not Borough B in London as it'd be nigh on impossible to do, so London only does it as either National Lockdown or London in totality I reckon.

Tier 3 and on the naughty step once more for Leicester...so whilst 2,000 of you lot get to go back to the KPF I'm stuck once again on the outside pressed against the glass looking in

Whatever QPR do about all of this - I just hope those season ticket holders who (presumably) legally will not be able to attend are not penalised.

Leicester has been in some form of lockdown for months. Has it made that much difference? Why are things not getting better?

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the Earth all one’s lifetime. (Mark Twain) Find me on twitter @derbyhoop

more importantly while we're stuck with this tier 2 thingy, how many drinks are we allowed with our substantial meal.....one? then out after you've finished your meal, bottle of wine and make it last, i dunno.
will they serve you a second drink or bottle of wine if you have'nt finished, or, a big or, will i be allowed to drink my fill, 6 pints ?

Poll: how many games this season....home/away.

But, as I understand it, you’ll only be allowed to go there with your own household or “bubble”, not with your mates?

Substantial meal: eight packs of crisps, bag of twiglets, two packs of mini-cheddars and a supermarket Scotch egg. Stick that lot on a paper plate, crack out the plastic cutlery and let’s stop pi’s sing about. I can’t pop into 75% of the best boozers in town because they don’t do food, when most of the time, all I want to do is pop in for a swift pint or two in the afternoon, rather than get battered and roll around on the floor licking strangers‘ faces. If I do want to do that, however, I can go to my local Wetherspoons for nine hours as long as I remember to order Lasagne and a bowl of onion rings. Except I can’t as we’re in Tier 3.

Fulham FC: It's the taking part that counts

Good man. Fortunately, myself and some other exiled Whites managed to liaise with contacts in the capital, and arrange for F&M to do an airdrop over Greville Smyth park this afternoon. Unfortunately a few of the hampers ended-up in the New Cut, but with some self-restraint and moderation, we should have enough luxury provisions to see us through to the lifting of the Tier 3 restrictions. Thanks terribly for the offer, though. Much appreciated by all inside the blockade.

Leicester has been in some form of lockdown for months. Has it made that much difference? Why are things not getting better?

I shared this link a couple of weeks ago, and this is the most recent one, of the weekly updates the council sends out.

https://www.leicester.gov.uk/your-council/coronavirus/coronavirus-in-leicester-l

I don't want to take this off tangent too much, but in regards to Leicester our rates did drop across the summer in the extra lockdown we had, and in recent weeks have started skyrocketing again, which has largely coincided with the return of schools, AND the two huge universities we have in the city (both 20,000+ I think), both of whom are continuing to make their students go in to attend lectures rather than moving to online only.

Both universities are very central to the city, and for the University of Leicester they have a large number of halls of residences in neighboroughing Oadby & Wigston which has also seen rates skyrocket.

Predictably, on social media comments on the Leicester Mercury, the outraged are all blaming each other whilst all seeming to say they've been locked in their homes for 8 months straight, and you also predictably get the xenophobes popping up blaming all the Asians. All utter bilge in my opinion.

The weekly link also sends a colour graph showing where the highest rates are in the city - they all coincide with the most densely populated and/or poorest parts of the city.

I think really this will be the case for some time across the country, the most densely populated areas of our nation will have the highest rates. Whilst people aren't necessarily mixing in pubs/restaurants etc, they are still going to work and having to travel there.

My office is still open and whilst there are far less people in on a regular basis (I haven't been for about 3 weeks now), there isn't a facemask in sight among anyone, because under the current regs they don't have to. They might all be sitting 2m apart, but they're all still in an enclosed space together for 8 hours + per day. We've had a few covid cases that has led to several people all having to self-isolate at one time.

So apologies - I don't intend to turn this into Corona thread MkII, just trying to answer Derby's question! And really it is mostly all my own views based on what I get sent every week and what I see when out and about running.

It's a blanket approach and there is the usual, understandable, grumbles from all those who believe they are in the wrong tier.

Just where do you make the boundaries though? Wherever you put them there is going to be a road where one side is in tier 2 and one in tier 3, and the ones on the wrong side will be tempted to crossover to the pub opposite, for a meal with the Mrs, stay till closing and stagger back at 11pm.

So here's a thing my old school mate lives in semi-rural Lancashire <250 cases per 100k this week - Tier 3. My London borough second 'hottest' out of 32, >300 per 100k - Tier 2.
