Marvel at my shiny head and QPR opinions with James Allcott on the EFL fans show this lunchtime...

Been following Gab Sutton for a while and as Clive mentioned, the amount of work he does to understand the football league is insane and not a little unusual for a lad of his age! He speaks to as many fans as possible from all different clubs to get the latest, I sent him some updates on us a few years back when he popped up and asked if I could answer some questions, etc. Great account to follow and this EFL Show series provides similar insight from genuine fans.

Good work Clive and Jimmy Allcott

Clive - De Wijs should be working a door somewhere
James - Or should just be a door

Clive an uncanny resemblance to the Duke of Cambridge and I'm nor referring the the pub in Islington.

Gab Sutton great to hear him so knowledgeable about our club, he cant be more than 15!!!

I think every player in our squad got a mention.

Isnt the ex Gills keeper we signed 3rd in line to the goals after Seny & Lumers?

Great listen and superb insight into our wonderful club

captains fantastic

That was great - and the final few minutes in particular really rounded it out nicely.
It IS important how we do things, and it does feel like Rangers as a club are doing a lot of things right...there are bound to be some slip-ups but I cant help but feel that the wheel will turn for us if we keep doing what we're doing. This, on top of the Warbuton interview, has me hanging out for international flights to be a thing again.

Loved the story about Lee Hoos while at Burnley.

Burnley fans ripping up seats at Blackburn - the following year Hoos added the cost of replacing the seats, divided it up among the Burnley fans attending the the game, and added it to the ticket price!

Yeah good listen, the youngster did have a good grasp of his facts which was refreshing - was particularly impressed when Niko and a further loan was mentioned and he jumped in with "isn't he mid twenties now?" - good knowledge and legitmate challenge to whether he'll actually ever be good enough and if a further loan is worth it.

Thought Bettache chat was interesting too. I think we've had an excellent season, but one small cricisim for me would be on how we've managed Bettache. Fully agree with the positive comments about how Warbs manages the younger players - taking them out the side for a rest then bringing them back in but just feels with Betache, if we had a player returning to us now that had played 30+ competivive league games I think it would have done wonders for his development. Instead he's had minimal minutes on the pitch and feels he'll probably need a loan next season - I think he could have been ahead of the curve had he played more. The story about why he is well thought of by the Management Team does explain why Warbs probably kept him involved though.

Very much enjoyed that, especially the last 10' focussing on the what the club really means and should 'be'.

One thing sprang to mind on the enjoyable head shaking 5 minutes regarding Wallace's remarkable improvement - the thing, well ok, one of, the things that bugged me with my friend Mr Manning was that, often, if an attacking move broke down, or someone made the wrong pass - quite a common occurrence in any Championship game, he would often be found barely jogging to get back to recover, or the even more annoying throwing himself to the floor to try and buy a free kick.

Now you might argue that Lee Wallace's full speed run back is the same speed as someone else's jog but at least he will always try to get back to recover a situation, something that Manning was found wanting on many more than one occasion.

I think the Covid situation and injuries to 2 centre midfielders forced Warbs hand with Bettache as I think in an ideal world he would've been loaned to a Division one/two team expect that to happen next season also would imagine along the same lines Duke McKenna to get a season at Maidenhead next season or maybe Borehamwood (as part of as Tshimanga deal to sign with us) as this is Warbs big thing game time game time game time.

Thanks for that, was a brilliant listen and well worth burning off my data allowance for.

The Faysal Bettache story was excellent as was the Hoos at Burnley one.

And there's a look of Robert Carlyle in that episode of Cracker about Clive.

Sutton knows his stuff, good comments about Bettache, totally agree about Jenas.
