Head coach, 3 year contract. Good luck to him, (apart from when they play us), I have a feeling he'll need it.

No kidding. That club's a dumpster fire if ever there was one. Still, if he keeps them up it'll look good on his resumé.

Good luck to him.

Blues fan I know was certain until Warbs took the West Ham coaching role that he was set to take over. Sounds to me like they tried for Warbs, he isn't that crazy so they've gone Warbs assistant instead. Obviously doing all this while Bowyer still had the job too!

Can anyone enlighten me as to why Birmingham are currently a basket case?

I hope he does well there.

Up for sale take over figure head Lawrence Basini. Supposedly money being lent to him by dodgy Hong Kong backers

https://newstimesuk.com/2022/06/19/lawrence-bassini-faces-deadline-set-or-break-

Blokes been bankrupt twice, ran off with millions of Watford's money when chairman there, failed takeovers left right and centre.

Loads of references to him on The Price of Football Podcast. They are ringing extremely loud alarm bells

captains fantastic

He’s got his work cut out up there: be interesting to see what he can do.
Staying up will be a decent job but not sure if their owns would agree.

The lower half of half the stadium is still closed as it is subsiding. Seems the current owners aren’t interested in footing the cost of the repairs anymore.

This is even odder than Warburton's move: bad owners, chaotic club, possibility that he spoke to the owners while the previous man was in the job (a pet hate) and he turned down two jobs only to take this one. All very odd.

3rd worse at 2/1 with Paddy Power - so the bookies agree!

You've have thought he might have swerved the raging binfire that's Birmingham at the moment but I suppose he was out of work and it's a three year contract at the end of the day. I wonder if he has any regrets about not accepting the Swansea job.

Blues supporting mate of mine reckons the potential new consortium don't fancy Eustace and want to replace him with their own man. Good luck with that one John.

Matt Southall of Charlton infamy involved.

Listened to an interview with the new 'owner', Paul Richardson, who heads this consortium. Evidently they have bought a 'controlling' stake in the club of 21%. Now I rate myself pretty good at maths and am currently struggling how this one works. Other investor involved is an Argentinian businessman and also ex-footballer Maxi Lopez. Now this might some better than Laurence Bassini but not by much.

Yet our owners were criticised for not having somebody in place after Warburton. Not saying it was you but the general feeling on this board

Definitely not by me, John, no.

I think it's ok to have ideas and a wishlist, I think it's actually wise to.

But an employer chatting to a possible replacement about taking one of their employees' jobs is beyond the pale, I believe.

In the real world I totally agree with you but Football is an exception. You behave with those values, it could be the difference between safety and relegation.

There's give and take, how many on here have been paid for 3 years work and yet was only employed for 6 months? I'm guessing not many, it's football and they have different rules. It's not the managers, the players or the agents feelings that we should be worrying about its how we're going to continue paying their wages

Yes, I agree, if you behave with differing values it could always be the difference between something and something more challenging. In football, too.

But if what you believe doesn't cost you anything then you're left to question the value of your beliefs.
