Been quite impressed with the cameo appearances of young Ziyad. Looks a big solid unit but I mostly love his determination to stay on his feet and win the ball. Is it time to give him a start? As Marti has said, we need all the squad and playing him gives us options to rest Paal or move him in to midfield where he seems comfortable. Nice to have some proper options for a change.

An unexpected bonus, so far. Very promising, ability to get stuck in and make things happen.

He's made a good couple of cameos and I'm happy for now for him to keep making them. We're at our best starting games with Paal at LB doing the inverted full back thing, Larkeche looking good off the bench is great so long may it continue!

Agree. He looks decent going forward, not convinced by his defending so much.

That skirmish by the corner flag which led to the OG was amazing, the like of which I've seldom seen.

I have a sneaky feeling Marti sees him more of an attacking player than defending IMO.
He said he watched every QPR game for 2 years so he saw Larkeche having that nightmare debut that might have convinced him.
He is looking a bit quicker than I thought last 2 apperances maybe having license to roam is helping him

It's early doors but, from the little we've seen of Larkeche, it seems he works best if he's glued to the left touchline most of time. It'll be interesting to see how/if Marti can have Paal, Larkeche and, for that matter, Chair on the pitch at the same time. Surely they can't all play down the left side at once?

He is playing well , GA playing him at RB didn’t give him the best of starts

Great to see him shake off that terrible start he had. He's certainly shown he can get forward and harras the opposite full back, which has worked well late in the game twice now. Great option off the bench for sure.

Looking good value for a free signing. Would probably be better as a wing back rather than full back, but I'm certain MC knows how to utilise him better than me!

Surprising what happens when you don't play him right back.

His battling foray into the penalty area and cross that led to that own goal v Stoke doesn't appear to count as an assist. Shame. He deserved one.

Yeh you don't get assists on own goals, which is absolute bolox and why we do assists differently on here.

Whatever he uses him for it looks like he's developing his game and Larkeche seems like he's willing to learn and do whatever job the manager asks of him.

One of the most impressive things about the new manager is how he seems to have turned around players who looked useless or were overlooked by Ainsworth. Larkeche, Kelman and the revelation of EDB. If he can do the same magic on Taylor Richards we might have a strong squad.

If he does the same with Richards we might lose him as Southgate's replacement.

He might be impressive but he still hasnt managed to turn water into wine. That sort of thing will be needed to make Taylir Richard's a Campionship level player.

I think he could be a secret weapon going forward down the wings. He is fast, big, powerful and looks suited to an advanced wide position rather than as a fullback or wingback.

Never knowingly right.

If he can do that with Taylor Richards then a four year booking with a stage show on the Las Vegas Strip beckons for Marti.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

It's great to see Larkeche making such positive contributions.

Whilst he didn't use him well, we should give Ainsworth *some* credit because Larkeche was signed during his tenure.

NB: This is not a campaign to bring Gareth back!

So far he's harried a player and put a low cross into the box which resulted in a goal and played a short pass to Chair which led to a goal. Both of these actions you'd expect from a professional player.

I worry that the last 12 months has made us much more eager to jump on any semblance of effort/ability. A few have hyped Kelman a bit too after last few games and I've hardly seen him do anything beyond run around when on the pitch, again all basic stuff you'd expect from a footballer. I suppose at least Larkeche assisted a goal which he should be proud of.

I think EDB has been the one that's caught the eye and the one the Manager can rightfully feel proud for how they've integrated them into the first team. The other youngsters, jury well and truly out but agree it's at least positive that the Manager is feeling able to use them as options when in tight situations on the pitch.

Way too early to post this but if we move up the table ,play attractive entertaining football and make Loftus Road a fortress what happens to Marti.
He will attract a lot of attention so hopefully QPR have the contract locked down tight

He was screaming 'barely league one' for most of the times I've seen him, and it'll take more than some good cameos to change my initial assessment. That being said, I think it's fair not to judge anyone in this squad based on their time with Ainsworth...

Larkeche's academy background suggests he will respond better to high level coaching and he's shown - once again - that even the basics done well are effective in this league, and he's clearly got a part to play so we can utilise Paal's versatility. That'll do for now

Why would the FA want Taylor as England manager?

QPR - "shit but local"

Fair enough. But sometimes you can see potential whatever the circs. For instance you could tell Willock could be the real deal pretty much from his first few kicks of the ball. I wouldn't quite say Larkeche is in that category... yet. Let's face it he's only played a few impressive sub minutes, so it's very early doors but there's reason for genuine optimism.
