Broken Chair? 13:24 - Feb 23 with 2087 viewsKensalT

Last week WLS told us Chair would be fit for the Hull game.

No sign of him on Saturday and now he's out for at least two more games.

DM should stop publishing these injury updates from the club. They're making him look like Comical Ali (or Lord Haw Haw, since he lives in Ireland - ask your grandparents kids!)

Was there ever confirmation from the club as to what injury it is? If it's a hammy, which I think it is, the fact his return keeps being pushed back is very worrying. It suggests the injury is not healing well.

Indeed...

If not for his court case I think we'd have sold him already.

Some of our players seem to get a lot of setbacks.

And they are never properly explained.

Chair as at one stage due back in December. So now that's well into March, at best.
The striker signed to cover injuries, picked up an injury the day after signing and there is no given date for his return. Not really his return though, is it; he has never ever played for us in the first place.

Setbacks with recoveries or in training, I for one, would prefer a much more open and genuine dialogue from the club. Otherwise, have to say, you really need to look at who you are employing in terms of your performance recoveries teams. Most of us can understand the odd big word and if we dont understand we can Google.

Really feel the club MUST improve on this both in terms of general recoveries for players and no smokescreens regarding returns. We prefer to know the truth of situations but if you have to be economical with truth, at least have the decency to say why this is done.

Ie its better to have no information, than info that's an outright lie or fabrication !!!!

They said it was a contact injury although when he did it there was no one near him and he was holding his hamstring

Didn't he try and play on as well?
-- it was so long ago now I forget.
I've got some recollection of him getting up and playing on for a bit before eventually going down.

I thought Illy was ligaments though, wasn't he holding the front of his leg below the knee? I can't keep up anymore.

Anyway I'm sure its nothing to do with all our performance experts, you only have to look at the availability of the U8's, Ladies and Tiger Cubs to know what a great job they have done this year

Yes he did, i think he tried to run back and defend, they gave him treatment then he came back on for a minute or so before going down again

If you go back to the original post it was actually a dig at all the erroneous reports the club has been steadily putting out around player availability.

Chair is just the latest example of that.

Maybe I should have just said that instead of trying to look clever!!

In other news Poku's back in training (again)

If he actually had a full training session as was reported then he might have been expected to come back soon but then felt a reaction afterwards.

I agree some of the stuff coming from the club has been less than accurate but DM’s reports are usually pretty solid.

I'm not blaming DM.........

He's just reporting in good faith what he hears from the club.

It's the club itself that's pushing this twaddle about the condition of our players.

Several times this season we've been told that players are back in training or on the brink of a return only to disappear again without explanation for several more weeks.

I think the fact Chair has taken so long to be renovated is obviously because his injury was really bad.

I'd say lets paint him in some pastel shades and try and get him up and running.

One more season left id say... hope not obviously but gotta be realistic.

When he return hes now shabby chic rather than antique but he likely will be beyond being the chaise longue of the team

Given all the previous communications about players being back in training, expected back etc, I’ll take the news about Poku with a large pinch of salt.

As for the performance management team, led by Williams, I would sack the lot of them and hire a new team. Off course. that won’t happen given the Nourry and Williams friendship.

We can probably expect the same issues next season if this lot are still at the club.

When did we put Lovejoy on the payroll?

Do we really need a Head of Distressing and Glazing Performance!?

If we're trying to make a few quid off Chair down Portobello Road he must be in worse shape than I thought.

If Poku gets some decent minutes on the field and remains injury-free till the end of the season, I'll be very pleasantly surprised.

There was funny video that QPR posted on social media of Kone and Mbengue winding Poku up for being out injured for so long

At least the spirits are high in the camp and togetherness there. I hope he plays an important part at the end of the season - Winning goal in the play offs maybe
