Have you ever bet against QPR ??? 17:56 - Mar 12 with 1575 viewsnumptydumpty

With 80 to 1 being touted for our relegation this season, seems generous, anyone bet on us to lose or for a negative outcome, and our failure has put a few pennies in your account.....

Forest in the cup at home many moons ago. Put them to win 3-0. My dad was with me and was horrified. Lost 3-1 with a last minute goal by us.

When you watch your team week in week out you get a sense.

I've never been a betting person but if I were it would be pretty much at a Cup Final (those oh so rare of things).

If we win, I ain't going to give a schit about the lost bet
If we lose, then the takings will pay for beer to commiserate

That said, I forgot in 2014 but would have lost my money anyway, thankfully.

Dennis Lillee and Rod Marsh (Aussie wicketkeeper) were the famous example of this. 500-1.

It’s more profitable than gold at the moment.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Strangely not done that one myself....

Surprisingly, I am not a wealthy man !!!!

Probably a decent wager , would be for QPR to finish in the bottom half though of the championship every season.

There would be the printing of sterling there and then.

Watford away under Ainsworth, about a minute after the team sheet came out.

Remember the good old days where you could pay for your ticket with Gallen or Furlong as first scorer.

I bet against QPR all the time 🤣

Not sure if it’s some sort of cultural taboo that I shouldn’t be doing, but a little bit of emotional insurance goes a long way!

I’ve got a tenner at 150/1 on us getting relegated at the moment. Earlier on in the season when Mbengue was a walking card you could get between 3 and 5 to 1 on him getting booked anytime - it paid for my match days!

Can we not knock it?

Me too, Jeff, and I have no problem with it.

I bet on QPR matches all the time.

Me betting on us winning doesn't help us win.
Me betting on us losing doesn't help the oppo.
Neither changes the result.

I only bet a tenner at most, I usually cash out and in based on line-ups, subs, tactics etc.

I usually make a couple of hundred a year, and it pays for a trip to HQ to see all of you fine people.

I limit myself to small bets, usually a fiver a week, and some weeks I just don't bother but I have no problem betting against us.

If we win i'm happy. If we lose i'm not happy but at least I have some respite.

Should I feel shame? might as well make use of some insider knowledge. though proximity to our circus is a hindrance as much a help.

Thing is Brian as we know a few of the players bet on our football games as well.

High profile ones recently being Ivan Toney and of course, persistent offender - one Joseph Barton.

Its quite easy to bet against QPR and as Clive highlighted more than probable, you could make a few pennies.

Yes a few years ago where we were having a run of form not unlike now and I got on at 150/1 for relegation. Stood to win about $9k Australian dollars if it happened. It was becoming more and more likely until a scrappy win against a very poor Forest side pretty much ensured safety.

Similar odds were available a few games ago and I considered doing it again.

Absolutely nothing against doing it, but I always avoid it. I get the offset of getting something good out of something bad, but I'm the opposite - I don't want even the smallest part of me sad that something good happened (or bad didn't happen)

Yep had City to beat us 6-0 when Ramsey was caretaker manager
Think the odds were 8/1

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Yep been betting against us since Hull (A) - I fortunately lost that one but have turned a tidy profit since. Betting my winnings on the oppo each time. Up to £50 on Leicester this weekend from starting with a tenner - only put £5 on Hull initially.
£102.50 if we lose, £50 less and meh if we draw, £50 less and unbridled joy at another season in the championship if we win.
Might as well make some money at this utter depression.

I have never put money on us winning, don't see the point. Like others, consolation money always helpful and more importantly I feel like I am doing my bit as I am the worst punter in the entire world, so will regularly bet against us. 50/1 we go down in my pocket.

I could bet on Burrell not to play on Saturday and he would rise like Lazarus.

Yes I bet against QPR as it's the one thing I have more knowledge on than the bookies. For example a Middlesbrough win was even money on Sunday and Leicester at 5/4 earlier in the week was too good to turn down.

My view is this club ruins so many of my weekends I might as well have some financial compensation for it.

I don't bet big and If Rangers avoid defeat I will be more happy with that earning a few bob.

Surprised by the responses here!

Can't bring myself to do it. But get the emotional insurance angle.

Yes absolutely. Its like having insider knowledge.

I've won two football bets recently which have had QPR to lose to both Sheff Utd and to Brum.

If we draw/win then happy days. If we don't and it helps towards me winning some cash towards next seasons ST then it is what it is!

Dont know why we bother. .... but we do!

Yeah it's a good money spinner betting on the oppo, especially around this time of year when our form goes through the floor. Usually a fiver, nothing too silly.

Boro earnt me 28 quid when I cashed out on my 3-0 bet.

I had a 2-0 bet on Birmingham so I was somewhat p1ssed off they didn't score the second goal they clearly deserved!

I'm not seeing a lot of value for the game tomorrow (and obviously I'm not stupid enough to bet on us winning), so I will probably invest my fiver in a pie and a pint.
