Excellent posts from both Hunter and Northern regarding Lee Hoos. I have never understood the fans hatred of Hoos. He has had a job to do at the club and done it pretty well in my opinion.
I wish that he had arrived at the club sooner as his predecessor, Philip Beard, seemed to rubber stamp all of Tony Fernandes ideas resulting in us breaking the Financial Fair Play rules. I honestly don't think that would have happened with Hoos. |
Amongst all the chancers who get the blame for our current predicament, Phil Beard often goes under the radar.

I don’t get this attitude at all.
I know I’m in an extreme minority of people on this MB who isn’t permanently depressed about not going up but I really don’t understand why people want validation for their decision not to renew. My experience in the Paddocks and SAR isn’t the almost universal one here on here at all. Obviously you don’t want to renew and have very reasonable justifications for that but not everyone goes to football for the same reasons and I don’t understand why you want the club to fall apart with people not renewing because they haven’t been as successful as Brentford or Fulham.
That’s not to say I don’t get pissed off and frustrated with poor decisions by the club. Or that I think everything is going swimmingly. BUT I also see some positives that just don’t seem to be recognised on here at all. Like we have got more young people in the ground that have provided some well needed energy. I didn’t think I could continue to be the woman in her 60s out-shouting the rest of the crowd at the ref! We do seem to have more of the right sort on the pitch and as a proportion of the total it’s as good as we’ve had in years (that’s my perception anyway but it’s all opinions). We’re trying to get a younger group of players and build for the future in a genuine way over more than just one season and then tear it up again just to bring in expensive has beens, rinse and repeat. I love the community side of the club and feel it makes more sense of community than I recognised at other times since I’ve been a fan in the early 90s. I love the training ground and the access to it I’ve had which I’ve never had before in all my years of supporting the club. Andy Sinton and Tyler Morris.
I’m not saying we need to lose all the time or to have no ambition or any of the other things I might be accused of saying, just to be clear I’m not. Just that being in the Prem is not the only thing I come to football for. And tearing up your season ticket is not the demonstration of passion for your team that some of you seem to think it is. When Sheffield Wednesday fans are cheering purely for not getting another massive points deduction next season after the season they’ve had then I think that’s the kind of fan I want to be. Thick and thin, blood and thunder, in all weathers kind of fan.
Of course things need to improve. Of course we have every right to criticise. Of course we can vote with our feet if we want. Of course we should be competitive next season and right some of the obvious failures of recruitment and injury management. But for me there’s nothing more tedious on this board than these threads where people say they won’t renew and want everyone to back them up snd join them. Bores the tits off me frankly.

I posted something similar a few months ago about losing the love for football and this season has been even worse,
I have two teenage boys, neither can be bothered with Rangers any more. It's like groundhog season... you dabble with relegation, you have a little run and you end up mid to lower table. Maybe it's FPP, maybe it's the money being spent elsewhere.....whatever it is, its tedious.
I was having a chat with my Carlisle mate the other day. He's happier in the National League North than had been for a while in League 2. Off the pitch they have new investors and they are rebuilding on it. What is the world coming to when you look at Carlisle and think, that looks fun!!
I really hope they buy this land and build a new stadium because at the moment we are like concrete cancer. Slowly crumbling bit by bit, year by year.
But dont worry everyone, you can look forward to us selling our best players if we do have any glimour of hope. |  |

apathy? no not for me, gates are up and away support has many sell outs, we NEVER went near bottom 3 , flirted with p/off top 6 and finished mid table, again, had a decent day out at Irons in t'cup.
we had injuries , goalie issues and our form was inconsistent to say the least , we'd win 5 then lose 6 in a row?
my CONCERNS ARE HOW FAR WE ARE GETTING BEHIND TEAMS, FEW OF US RATE , LIKE BRENTFORD, BRIGHTON, PALACE as they all look at euro campaigns, one in a final now god forbid , even millwall seem to be building , Fulham are out of sight too.

many of those teams named were in worse case situations than we were, palace fans marched many times to save their club , padlocks went on gates at cherries , fulahm were a nothing team yet all have emerged to stabilise and progress. |  | | |
