Obviously inspired by the current Shroedinger's player, Justin Obikwu.
Players who were signed ostensibly for the senior squad but never played (so the likes of youth players like the infamous Shimmin and Hislop are ruled out).
Number one is incontestably Richard Ord. Two years without a single appearance, never again played another minute of professional football.
Ned Zelic is also a shoe in, a club record signing who made four appearances. At least he was gone relatively quickly.
Armel Tchakounté: signed to help us along to the Premier League. Did he make an appearance? Even Wikipedia can't decide if it's four or none.
Taylor Richards: No one needs nor wants any reminders here.
I'm sure there are more belters I haven't thought of, probably signed by Harry Redkapp. What do we have?
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the almost legendary Adsm Czerkas has cropped up on here yet. He managed as many as three appearances for us.
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Ross Weir and Michel Ngonge both signed by Gerry around the time of the great Sammy Kojoe although I think Kojoe made quite a few appearances, he was really a load of Dodo
Also remember Colin Viljoen start for us in a friendly v Brighton at the old Goldstone Ground
Did anyone ever see a player called Maurice Doyle appear for us back in the late 80s early 90s? Midfielder.
I remember him in the first team picture one year and according to Wikipedia he played 6 (six) times for us in 6 (six) seasons! 1989 to 1995. Can anyone beat that?
As a kid, and ST holder, I was, like all football mad kids, obsessive about our results, league position and who played for us, but this bloke completely escapes me.
I remember a furore on here when we released an academy striker called Ricky Sappleton, when he went on to have a trial at Liverpool before signing for Leicester. According to Wiki, he played on game for them, had lots of loans and a spell at Macclesfield, then nearly a decade circling the M25 in non-league.

Ya, I remember him, Wilkins. Short, dark hair, nice passer in midfield and far better than many players we've had but just couldn't get into that great midfield we had. He was in the reserves for years, and probably stayed too long for his own sake.

I was reading about Maurice Doyle on Wiki, and the similar searches at the bottom had Jimmy Carter (surely been mentioned?) and Bobby Bowry. I dimly remember him as a skinny, lanky Palace player but he played many more games later for Millwall and Colchester, well over 300 league games in total. I never knew he was another QPR junior, never made the first team.

Two great shouts.
I remember Carter arriving and leaving, but for some reason I don't remember Bowry being with us.

Paulo Wanchope.
Six goals for us in three reserve games.
The one we allowed to slip through our fingers.
Derby snapped him up and he scored 23 in 72 including the goal below on his debut against Man Utd. Transferred to West Ham for £3.5m where he scored 12 in 35, then went to Man City for £3.6m where it was 27 in 64. Left England to play in Spain for Malaga and never returned, but definitely one that got away!
