First QPR result of your lifetime? 16:20 - Nov 11 with 11361 viewsBluce_Ree

For some reason, about three minutes ago I decided to look up the first QPR fixture to happen in my lifetime. I was a mere four days old when QPR played Liverpool at home.

QPR 0 - Liverpool 1. Oct 19th 1974.

Probably explains why I hate those c*nts so much.

What's youRs?

Sat 19 Nov 1960 SHREWSBURY TOWN H League D 1-1 Loftus Road

Left us 4th in Old Div 3 (league 1 for you youngsters!)

Have no idea if my Dad was there or not, I'll have to ask him!

I was 6 days old, we lost 4-3 away to Walsall the day before I was born, which sounds like quite a match!

Born 5th June 1958.

Assuming 1st competitive game was 58/59 season then;

Sat 23/8/58 Reading 2-2 Queens Park Rangers

Will check my QPR book when I get home for friendlies.

I've also noticed we played Bury, Rochdale and Stockport that season, all within about 10 miles of where I was born, so now I know why I became an R's fan !!

Did you Dad sit in the upper Loft? A bloke near us left at half time that day when we were 4-0 down and his excuse when we all laughed at him the next home game was his wife had just had a kid so he had to get to the hospital. I always assumed it was bullshit

QPR 1-1 Hull City, 18th April 1959.

First game watching R's was 22 October 1966.

QPR 4-1 Leyton Orient.

Now a few days after 47 years of this mad love affair. After the first couple of years I thought it was always this way. Winning most games, two promotions and seeing us at Wembley in 1967. How deluded must I have been!

My wife was West Ham a 1-0 win in 1978 which is ironic as her Dad is a West Ham fan

Saturday 6th November 1982
Rotherham 0 - 0 QPR

Sounds like a cracker! Although a good omen as we had 27 points from 14 games (4 less than this year)

I was in good hands that matchday. Top midwives.

Spetember 29th 1984. A week after the 5-5 against Newcastle and a week before we lost 2-3 to Luton who went on to finish 13th, 6 places above us...

No idea if my Dad was there, if anyone see's him, ask him for me.
