..my third win in a row and noting others advice re train, I took a quick butchers at the options. Y'know, riding a bus replacement for the leg from Ipswich to Norwich doesn't look that bad, only 45 miles of sitting uncomfortably close to someone else's poor personal hygiene. The other rail routes, taking onboard the time to change trains really don't appeal.
The 45 miles will take nearly 90 minutes Boston. The return will be even longer as traffic is held up after the match.
The A140 in Suffolk is mainly a 40mph (or is it 50mph?) speed limit, although it's mainly higher in Norfolk. I'm not sure if the major roadworks in Norwich will affect the journey either.
I'm definitely not using the bus replacement. My choice is to drive to Thetford & then go by train, or drive to Norwich park & ride. At the moment Thetford is looking the more likely, but car parking there might be an issue as the station car park only has 39 spaces.
It would be appreciated if anyone could advise me of parking in Thetford.

Well if you are planing to go. I can’t make Norwich now so have a train ticket going spare! It’s London via Cambridge to Norwich. About an extra 45 mins to normal Norwich journey.

I've done Norwich via Cambridge before. I went from Finsbury Park, but it doesn't look like that's a goer this weekend. You can get a train up to Cambridge from Tottenham Hale (Victoria line) though. Take about 2.5 hours, but less faff than replacement buses.
Coming back, you could go Norwich to Cambridge, and then get the 17:37 train from there down to Tottenham Hale. That would be around 3 hours on the way back.
Fulham FC: It's the taking part that counts

I drove up to Naarwich the Saturday before last and the A140 is completely free of roadworks, including a new stretch of road through Long Stratton, which was always a bottleneck. I still wouldn’t want to sit on a bus for 90 minutes each way, especially as they sometimes use school buses with no toilets on them. Either Peterborough or Cambridge is a better alternative and on trains too.
I will be going in the opposite direction as I’m off to Wembley to see the lionesses play China.Just my luck that we have a good chance of winning this time as I’ve never seen us win there in about 15 visits.

Problem with this tin pot company is that the train usually arrives 10mins after bus has departed.
And they’ll only have a certain amount of coaches lined up at Ipswich waiting for all the people to get off,and then it’s a scrum to get on one.Very stressful if you’re pushed for time. All because of the new footbridge they’re installing at Stowmarket, which was supposed to be finished in May this year.

The mystery is solved as to why there is no Ex Pats uploads this week you are back in the Motherland bringing good luck and a winning streak to QPR. Enjoy the trip and hopefully Trump/ICE will let you back into Boston

Do give my love to Delia Smith.
She also lives in Stowmarket, although I doubt she’ll be getting on the bus replacement coaches. She might be waiting at the bus stop shouting “Let’s be ‘aving you.”

I don’t often like anything about chelshite but their song a few years ago was quite funny for them. “We’ve got Ambravich and you’ve got a drunken bitch.”

And the responses were "We've got a super cook, you've got a Russian crook" And the Chelsea response 1 Gordon Ramsey, there's only 1 Gordon Ramsey.
Very witty for a football crowd.
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the Earth all one's lifetime." (Mark Twain)
