Is nothing sacred? (Answer - not in football, obviously.)

Clearly not. Everyone knows it’s ‘Matrade’ Loftus.

When I started following the club almost everyone called us Queens Park Rangers or Rangers. You were going down The Bush or going down the Rangers, never going down to QPR. It was the 1967 League Cup Final that introduced this abomination when The Football League adverised it as "The Alphabet Final". I've used the initials in songs/chants etc, but I'd be surprised if you found any post from me using them. Apart from to moan about them being used! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Same here, Terry. I've always called us 'Rangers'.

| I quite like the name - "LOFTUS" on 17:12 - Feb 19 with 592 views | BrazilNutR | They do this a lot in Brazil.. and it annoys the hell out of me. Whenever we get QPR on the TV with Brazilian coms here, they refer to us as Queens, which really riles me. Facebook is called Face Guns N Roses - Guns Ahhggg So "Loftus" is a big no for me.. | | | |

Don’t forget Wiksy. Another reference. By the way - Loftus can do one in my house. [Post edited 19 Feb 19:41]

Same, we also used to talk about "the Rangers Roar." Afraid this is probably an Old Man Thing, though (Speaking only for myself, natch!)

Does anyone know when 'QPR' became a thing? Also, why are we QPR but West Brom never WBA, except in writing? These things keep me awake in night.

QPR sounds great. It sounds right. WBA...doesn't.
