Isn't it time we gave him a break from all the grief he is getting.
The lad is 19 and has only made 28 senior appearances for us and Villa combined and because of the hype instilled on him by Prick Bile he was expected to be a wonder kid for us.
As Clive is constantly commenting on, players in this standard need at least to have made 50 appearances in competitive matches to be consistent.
The boy is obviously suffering zero confidence and is playing in a team in terrible form so is it any wonder that he is struggling. In an ideal world he would be taken out of the firing line for a few weeks and used as a sub to try and take the pressure off him.

If it was just a confidence issue he would at least run about.

You don't need to play 50 games to learn to work hard and track your runners

Should be sent back so he can stop "learning" at our expense

He wasn't signed for a relegation battle which is my point about him him being totally low on confidence

If Amos could get himself fit, maybe he would. Can't track your runners when you can't run yourself. Thats a much bigger issue

I thought Tim was our best player Saturday, even though it didn't take too much. He caused Blackburn the most problems with his long legs winning, keeping the ball and striding out of midfield. He did little wrong and scored the goal. It's also good to see someone with his skills playing for us, there's not so many left with all the injuries. He has always been available to play too.

I'm genuinely starting to think I mistakenly go to a different part of town on Saturdays and watch another team.

I thought Tim was the weaker of the midfield three on Saturday. Even with SJ more and more Bartonesque (pre-Burnley) by the game.

Tim mirrors our whole team.

First half: not great, very occasionally does something surprisingly decent.
Second half: disaster zone.

Having said that, think Gaz pushing him up higher is a good idea.

Bare bones.

Tim is not a DMC, hes been labelled that and more.

He is an AMC and needs people to cover in behind him, such as Fields and JoJo. And he needs more than once person.

With Chair, Willock, Dykes out, he is now our attacking threat with Lowe and Martin. Desperate times, desperate measures.

When Dozzel came on, we could see he had zero idea going forwards. He was totally lost. In the second half Tim was ordered to go forward, and it was a little better, but not by much.

I expect to see Tim, Martin and Lowe as our attackers now because we don't really have anyone else fit anymore :(

zzzzzzzzzz

Yes we are in bad shape going forward if Dykes cannot play with Martin soon and batter a few defenders into submission .
I posted before but the match commentator said Lowe and Dozzell were our strikeforce Saturday when Martin went off and I knew it was over .Lowe is a strange one ,started out strong ,scored then missed a few sitters now is almost invisible .
As for Tim I wish I had the time and energy to check it out but his mistakes like hospital passes , short passes , penalty etc have cost us way more points than he has contributed IMO.
I know he is young and healthy but not giving everything for the shirt like a few others

I tend to agree with this and am hoping to see a change in formation and tactics on Saturday.

I would bring Adomah into the side with the aim of putting crosses into the box for Martin with Tim and Lowe in and around the box to put pressure on the Rotherham defence.

As for those calling for Amos, well most of his time at QPR as a loan or permanent player has been on the injured list. Perhaps if he was a fit player who could be relied on to play 35+ games each season, Tim would not have been needed.

Just remember, the alternative to Tim would have been a lot more games for Dozzell who just tends to stroll through games with very little else but sideways and back passes.

Couldn’t agree more.
Thought Ibuprofen and Jamal Lowe were pathetic on Saturday and I’ve seen other reports suggesting Tim was man of the match

Young kid and all that but his performance haven’t been good enough and frankly we don’t need to be blooding other clubs youngsters in a relegation battle .
He’s been as poor as the rest and some . That’s the reality.
He won’t be here next season that’s for sure.
The powers that be need to take a long hard look at themselves. The loanees having been nothing short of a feckin disaster.
Let’s hope we go down a different route, hopefully in the championship next season.

Problem is that we don’t have any better options who are regularly fit and available. And performances didn’t improve when Tim was dropped, if anything they got worse.

Also telling that all three of our managers this season have started him. But I agree with the poster above who said he should be playing in a more advanced role and I suspect he will now that we’re without Chair, Willock etc.

I don’t think he’s our main problem but he seems to have become an easy scapegoat as a loanee. More focus should be on our defence that continues to leak three goals a game.

I’d go 352. That works best with the players available now:

–––––––Dieng
Dickie Gubbins Dunne
Kakay Paal
Field Johansen
Amos
Martin Lowe

Adomah covers Kakay
Richards can cover Amos (Tim too)
Dozzell covers Field and Johansen
Amos could drop deeper and Tim play at 10.
You get 3 centre halves in the pitch to shore up he defence.
You get two centre forwards on the pitch to offer more threat.

I actually think Martin and Lowe are going well suited to playing together as a front 2. Hard to defend high or deep against them.

Obviously ideally Balogun or JCS would be available but they are not, so make do. Gubbins needs to play. We’re losing as it is, and often conceding 3. It can’t get much worse!
