Excellent gallows humour at 3-0 - we've got the ball, we've lost the ball, we'll get it back etc etc.

Couple of points on the game, which Brentford fully deserved to win.

- i know i'm in minority, but despite a couple of quality performances at the beginning of the season, i'm still very unsure about Manning, he was getting overrun thought down that side in the first half and was often caught out of position.

- lummers must be benched for while now, it's embarrassing and not helping him at all, he's clearly got the yips now and it doesn't help the defence in front of him

- off day for many players - Eze was fairly anonymous, Cameron and Hall had poor games. Only Chair looked dangerous whenever he got the ball and Bright too to a lesser extent.

- The Brentford front three are utter quality.

Cameron looked way out of his depth at centre back in the first half, but played really well in the defensive midfield role in the second. I was worried about losing 7 or 8 nil at half time, and that was averted at least! Im not sure about manning, but I wouldn't have been upset if Wallace kept his place

Supporting those three, don't blame them.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

Would have liked to see Wallace keep his place actually, after some very solid performances indeed.

Harsh on Cameron though, he was poor in the first half but was excellent I thought in the second once moved into the middle of midfield.

Cameron was dreadful in the 1st half. He looked okay in the second half because they stopped pressing and committed fewer forward so he was under a lot less pressure to track runners, make tackles and had more time to pass it. I still think Dom Ball is better in that role.

Just back and got to say the ref had a massive impact on the game. He didn’t give a pen to them when it looked like it probably was. But then decided to give them everything. First goal came from a foul on us that he gave as a free kick to them and similar for the third. He then ignored a foul on Wells in the area and again gave a free kick to them and continued to ignore fouls on us while allowing Watkins to ref the game for him. We were better on the second half but it was never going to be easy to get back from 3 down. We did have a couple of very good chances though, but their player skied a sitter.

yep i thought the ref looked hopeless and everything went against us. it wasn't a dirty game at all and yet we picked up 5 or 6 bookings and pretty sure brentford didn't get any.

Know so many who's conversion to the Bees coincided with. United's and Arsenal in particulars poor form over the last 5 years and the Bees promotion to the Championship.

Do admire proper 5k hardcore who had very little to cheer for 50 odd years and kept following, proper fans.

Let's face it, Brentford have a solid and intelligent blueprint and we are some way behind that, but at least finally on a similar path.

Brentford have a fantastic front three and a quality manager who is similar in many ways to Warburton but who has perhaps more progressed technical players to work with.

BUT... Brentford have to go up this season or literally all their forwards, one midfielder and their centre backs will be snapped up. They may be able to replace most of them but the reality is that they have the physicality, pace and stye to hold their own in the lower half of the Prem if they go up. They have been knocking on the door for years but this season they really need to capitalise on the group of players they have. As hateful as it sounds and feels, they are just that much better than us right now. That balance may well change again in a few seasons.

Their front three have real pace, youth and physicality. They have Faurlin style playmakers in the middle and big ugly Shittu type defenders. All very cleverly amassed. Something we will be able to do if everyone holds their sh*t together and let Warburton get on with it over the next few seasons.

On a negative mark one of the things we desperately need is a specialist defensive coach. Someone who understands marking, tracking players and concentration at set pieces. We keep getting done by them and that has to be addressed. Why not get Clint Hill back as a specialist coach? I am sure he could sort our backline out. Brentford are good because their defence is really solid. Get ours solid and get some pace and youth amongst it and we'll be able to emulate Brentford's current success.

We played with a makeshift centre back and unfortunately it showed. Big plus for today was that Masterson stepped up. Our cbs have been a problem all season and MW knew/knows that, let’s hope he can sign his player in Jan.

A lot of the goals we concede seem to come from one of three things:
Getting behind our fullbacks
Set pieces
Individual errors

The first is always going to be tough to solve if we are committed to a style of play with attacking fullbacks, but not impossible. The other two there's really no excuse for.

Thought Cameron was excellent 2nd Half and was the catalyst for getting us on the front foot and back in the game.

Not sure if was a like for like replacement for Ball or if played as as the 3rd Centre Half with the Full Backs pushing on but either way was excellent in a 2nd Half where we were on top but didn't take our chances to go 3-2 and press for a late equaliser.

I think maybe we should try Manning in midfield alongside Cameron. Stick with Wallace at left back too.

The problem with Ryan in Central Midfield is he only has a left foot and for me Amos is currently playing well in the same role Manning would have there.

He was at fault for the goal from the free kick having lost his man. I can accept being caught out of position from time to time in open play given the way we play, but his defending for that set piece was bordering on criminal.

Personally I think someone paying us 3 to 5 million now would resolve a problem MW has now. Overall I think Wallace would give us a better balance to the defence, but Manning is a saleable asset now, and MW has to play him if we're realise anything from him, but there's too many players in front of him to play left midfield or central midfield at the moment.

That second half reffing display was a disgrace. Literally like he had been offered a brown envelope at ht.

I agree with you but at the same time, other teams complain when a decision goes against them. We just accept it and move on. I hate the moaning to refs, that is acceptable in modern football. At the same time, if you accept bad decisions against you, you won't get 50/50 decisions

Thought this myself. We never seem to get into the head of the referee which may be something to be admired but when in Rome......

The ref allowed Hall to stay on the pitch when he could have given a second yellow. The ref was not the reason we got smashed again. In fact I thought the ref had a good game.

Agreed with all of this.

If Wolves want to offer 7-8 mil for Manning, I will drive him to Molineux myself. I somehow doubt that will ever come through- good player but not Wolves level.

Lumley- have been defending him for a long time but sadly he has to to take a rest now. I dont think Liam kelly is the answer either tbh. Surly there must be a keeper in the lower leagues of Germany/France/Italy/UK etc. who has better feet than Lumley and more of a physical presence than Kelly. I dont think the bar is that high on our GK situation. Should be able to pick someone up on the cheap.

Eze was very quiet but there wasnt much of a platform for him to play on. I think we could really do with a player like Norgaard or Sawyers to try and take hold of that midfield area.

Masterson looked good when he came on. I would save the money on Halls contract next season and play him instead.

First and last visit to Griffen Park and what a bloody experience!

I don't often watch us at pitch level and found it interesting seeing players up close.

Most memorable moment was Hall getting turned and bringing down the Brentford player to save his blushes.

I wish we'd start with Wells and Hugill, why not?!

Its all already been said, but its so f***ing frustrating rolling over like that. F**k sake Rangers!!!

He gave every decision to them in the second half. There were countless fouls on our players he didn't give.
Did you not see that?
