New year, new thread, new tunes.

Although this dropped at the end of last year, the album should be this year. And knowing how this forum software likes to sticky the first post in a thread, it's fitting that at least some of this lot are QPR fans.

Indeed! A new Living Colour album is on its way too

Poor old Living Colour. They went from popular to basically nothing in record time. I still rate the first three albums a lot though.

This is really a comment for the guitar playing thread, but I am teaching myself to play "Cult of personality" and "This is the life". The main riff for the latter features a tricky trill/slide combination...

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Familiar yet unique. New a cappella song from Underworld.

Odd band this. They're amazing often. Albums are patchy for sure but the good songs are really good.

They do things musically that no one else does. Their choice of notes is genuinely different. And a few times I've heard a song and though 'nah' and then a week later I'm loving it. This song is like that, it takes a few goes.

Have the exact same feeling about them. Seen them live a couple of times and been "eh?" but the next day thinking oh it was pretty good now i think about it

Just spotted this new mix from HAAi - takes a couple of listens but very good when it drops.

Good tune that.
I know what you mean about The Murder Capital.
If I never heard any other music other than Green & Blue on a loop until I die, I'd probably die happy.
Months ago I got a ticket for their gig in a couple of weeks time, thinking I've got the option, but might not bother, as its a 50 mile round trip and some of their stuff is a bit...meh, but that track may have swung it for me.

The album I'm most looking forward to must be coming soon because Run With Hounds have put out a single. Oddly it's just a song that they've had for years but re-recorded. I think I prefer the previous recording but it's still great.

The lead singer of Burning Witches solo.

Laura Guldemond for the curious.

New but old. They've done this live for a few years, but just released the video...

There is a brilliant youth scene going in London at the moment -and this band are leading it. They are 15-17 years old!
They've already supported Blondie and the Libertines (Pete Doherty is a big fan)

New one from Yo Speed. I can imagine this being mixed all over the place:

This is from 2022, but still kind of new to me:

The new Sufjan album, especially in the context of everything that's happened to him, is utterly, heart wrenchingly sublime

A rollicking rocker from the outfit based in south London. Lively, punky, catchy.
