With the football season coming to a close in a months time, some here will turn their attention to the smell of freshly mown grass and long days sat in the hot sunny weather watching the great game of cricket.
As a member of Kent Cricket Club, I got to enjoy my first match of the season against Somerset at Canterbury over the last few days. Unfortunately, as is always the way starting the season this early, the first day was lost to rain. In fact nearly all the games were affected by rain, some without a ball even being bowled.
But I did manage to get to see 2 centurions at Canterbury yesterday and a very enjoyable day of cricket (even if I did get sun burned head - Yes I know should have taken a cap).
Did anyone else get to see cricket over the last few days? I know we have several Middlesex supporters who no doubt enjoyed the 'runfest' at Lords (over 1300 runs I believe) [Post edited 4 Apr 13:14]

I'm the same opinion re Brooks. I still think his decision in that last test v India cost us the series... he should have brought us home instead of playing that pull he did

You can do the tour yourself much cheaper than the Barmy army tours cost.I booked both test in New Zealand a couple of years ago for 1/2 the price that they were charging.
I’m not sure about organising a trip to Pakistan or South Africa myself,but New Zealand and even India last year were pretty easy.
And it’s very easy to get dragged along by the crowd and tour organisers to spend a lot more than you need to. |  | | |

On a side note - Went to watch Upminster CC v Essex XI for Nick Browne's testimonial on Sunday - T20 match and great to see so many kids involved during the intervals.
Also, Upminster had 2 women in their side and were better than some of the guys

Ye, pretty poor. I do love Archer, always tacking on a few quick runs at the end of an innings. Disappointed that Carse and Atkinson didn't do better - they're not bad with the bat, need them to stick on a few more and strengthen the tail | | | |
