| This season Vs last - progression 21:34 - Feb 22 with 981 views | JohnBurkeQPR | It took us until April 7th, 40 games into the season, to get to 46 points last year. At that stage, we had only won 7 home games, and 4 away all season. This year, we are at 47 points in seven less matches, having won more home games (8) and away (5). Bar a disastrous run of form (which, as this is QPR, can easily happen), we should be seeing some strong progression and I hope we are able to spend the next three months going into each game looking at play off team results, rather than relegation team. I know Stephan seems to be a divisive manager so far, but I am happy with how it has gone in his first year. | | | | |

| This season Vs last - progression on 22:03 - Feb 22 with 812 views | Myke | Good post, John. Unquestionably, we are in a better place than 12 months ago (or 24 months ago for that matter). Obviously the more expensive recruits and crippling injuries have been discussed to death on here as reasons we should be doing better/reasons why we are not higher up the table. One point I would like to make, is that Stephan seems to have found a way to stop a spiral of long losing runs (cue spiral starting with Southampton). HOW he has done that is by grinding out an ugly away draw after a loss. My view on these games has been well aired on other threads and I feel we have been lacking in ambition at Oxford and Charlton . However, purely from a ‘stopping the rot before it starts’ point of view it has been effective. We may have only won three games since Christmas, but we have only lost roughly the same amount and never consecutively. So in a nutshell we have become ‘hard to beat’ (most of the time) which is tangible progress too. | | | |

This time we're holding up ok, not brilliant but ok. That alone for me says we have much more squad depth now with of course still some well documented gaps. [Post edited 22 Feb 22:40]

Some canny signings, that have hit the ground running and most positions having decent options, if injuries hit, which they most certainly have. Guessing also, a couple of decent sales of players at their peak as regards transfers and also, the net impact of the help of the Eze funds available has given ourselves.

I don't think we'll make it and so once we hit 50 points, I'd be playing the pups more. Pressure off, see what they've got. Morgan, Bennie, Ezzy, the Coventry lad, Tylon, and even Tuck. If we can't blood them now, then when can we?

No gigantic lucky season, just progress. Oh my God - progress!!! Yes please. I like Stephan, as you say he seems divisive but I wonder how much that has to do with Marti and Nourry. I like his approach, he’s had a lot of challenges with new players and injuries but he keeps doing his best. He makes his share of mistakes, like all of us, and still he has given us a better season than we’ve seen for a long time - even if it is just average. He mixes things up now and again; tries different things. Fck it, why not!! Been a good step up this season for me. Can we do it again next season? Yeh, come on, let’s do it.
