In the finest traditions of Shaun Harvey’s League Cup draws, a small crowd gathered at Michael Ashley’s Sporting Goods Emporium in Merton a little after midday on Tuesday to see this year’s LFW Berlin Olympics sweepstake draw conducted by HRH Princess Michael of Kent and former QPR loan star Big Bob Taylor who you’ll recall was shamefully overlooked by Glenn Hoddle for his France 98 squad in favour of a young Michael Owen (who knows what could have been).
Competing for a prize of your choice from QPR’s 26/27 clothing line (whenever they get round to launching that) the message board posters were numbered 1-48 depending on the order they entered, and 48 countries were duly written on little scraps of paper and placed into the large Russian hat I used to wear to the colder away games but have more recently retired as a gesture of respect to the people of Ukraine.

Thought he let a lot go in the first half that could have been cards. The second SA red is a joke but that’s the VAR world our elites have chosen for us. Actually no issue with the Mexico red even if he possibly gets a yellow for that normally. The bloke is through to take a shot that he’d obviously have slashed ten yards wide but the defender hasn’t played the ball. In the situation he should have just taken his chances on the bloke being too crap to score.
