Anyone ever had one of these? I've had one for a few years on my inner thigh - just sitting there innocently staring at my two veg, never a moment's trouble as Harry might say.

Over the last couple of weeks it's started to really niggle any time I went for a run. So, determined not to let anything stand between me and the promised land of 13.9 stone, I took the law into my own hands and decided to choke it to death with a piece of dental floss - a process known on the internet as 'tying it off'.

Day 3 of this struggle has arrived and I've got a rather sensitive red pea sized sphere hanging off me with bits of plastic wrapped round it. The internet said it might be there for '5-10 days' before it finally dies and falls off - tenacious little fcuker, much respect etc. Anyway I fcuking hope not - can't really go outside because it's making me walk like John Wayne in a dildo factory. To speed up the process I've started periodically blasting it with Superdrug Instant Freeze Spray which may or may not be helping things.

So that's my Crimbo Limbo sorted...

Please dont take medical advice of any kind off the internet. Seeing just how much discord there can be talking about football I'd never want to do something to my body from what someone on the internet has said!

I had a reasonable sized skin tag on the back of my left shoulder for years plus a small one on my neck.
Neither bothered me but once my three year old decided the shoulder one was fun to play with I went to a specialist in Chiswick. The paperwork took longer to do than the removal process.
She said people shouldnt attempt to remove them themselves as they have blood vessels and you can bleed a lot plus leave unsightly scarring.

There was a small bit left and she said it would dissapear in a few days which it did.

You wouldnt even know i had one.

Morale of the story.... go to a specialist. Cost me around £65 for the two.

Too late Juze, I'm already committed to this fool-proof method. It's a very small one, and scarring doesn't matter on my grizzled frame, especially where it is but I'll order in a couple of bags of O positive just in case.

Had one taken off my leg by my Doc. A couple of hours later the wound opened up and as per the comment in the previous post it bled like a bastard.
A few minutes with my finger pressed on the tiny wound sorted it.

I went to the GP for one on my back and he found a suspect mole and referred me to the cancer clinic where they cut it out there and then. The results were 50/50 but once removed it couldn't harm me anymore.
Go see your GP, dont take any chances.

Have a few on my neck, shoulders and back for some years, but haven't been that bothered until I got one on my chin, which was always getting nicked when I shaved, so went to the GP.

A 5 minute session with litre-sized liquid nitrogen 'gun' got the bugger and he did a few more - maybe 20 or so.

He's got me going back once a month to get the rest. I've been 4 times, nearly all gone now, one more session should do it.

No real health risk apparently, but unsightly and painful when caught on clothing - and they get bigger, so GP keen to get them properly sorted.

Apparently, some GPs may not offer the treatment as they consider it 'cosmetic'.

Don't understand people knocking the NHS - I think it's possibly THE very best thing about the UK -medical treatment for all, regardless of income, free at the point of use.

It's patched me up from football injuries, motorcycle prangs, saved the lives of two of my children (5 years ago we'd have had to have remortgaged the house and gone to the USA for treatment received for one of them) and my wife during a very complicated labour.

I feel a rant coming on - I'd better stop...

I honestly didn't intend to provoke such concern. Thought I'd just describe a bit of a funny, farcical situation - touch of light relief etc etc....

-I did have it looked at a couple of years ago by a dermatologist.

-And here's our very own NHS on the matter:

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/skin-tags/#removing-skin-tags

I believe that's called 'demand management' in 21st century Britain-speak...

Apple vinegar applied twice a day will make a skin tag shrivel up and drop off. Takes a couple of weeks.

I bought a removal kit from Boots 3 years ago. It's basically a set of small elastic bands that put over the tag and it strangles the tag and stops blood flow.I had a huge one on my inner thigh and about five smaller ones on my Under arm. Took about 10 days for them all to fall off. The large one caused problems as anything touching it caused a very uncomfortable Sharp pain. They went pitch black as the blood dried up until they fell off. I've started getting some more on my Under arm but the thighs are clear.

It's nearly dead now. All shrivelled up. The wife went to bed in a huff because I wouldn't let her prematurely murder it - she's even stranger than me.

Your wife said 'i want to hammer that thing between your legs' and you let her go to bed on her own?
No wonder its shrivelled up!

Had a few of these around my neck area and a big one on the back of my knee.
I just nip them off with a pair of nail scissors.
Doesn't hurt and they don't really bleed much. Never had one come back.

Poll: Serious concern we'll double drop?
