got the day off from work. had aroma in shepherds bush. walked to the plough and harrow in hammersmith, no draught beer due to heat. one pint in the salutation, king street, over 100 degrees in pub. walked down to the prince of wales in darling road....fantastic, 7 pints and plenty of ac. been in doors now for 2 hours, torrential rain.
Give me the winter anytime - football, winter ales, a bit of peace and quiet as the nutters are less prevalent, Xmas and New Year, a chance to wear your trendy outdoor gear…..marvellous !

Also a day off work which included three cold baths, one mile swim in the local pool, and an evening stroll (t’pub) across Shepherds Bush Green which by rights should now be called Shepherds Bush Straw Yellow.

As my wife once said when walking down our old street on a hot summers day, and everyone had their front windows open: “Ah, the sound of summer: couples rowing, parents shouting at their kids, kids crying, and shit music whacked-up to 10…”
Not a fan of the heat. I’d take a bright, crisp winters day, with a walk and a cosy pub, any day over this heat. Anything above 26C can fu ck right off as far as I’m concerned.

A definite added bonus of winter is that less t wats are outside.
Floated about in a 3m x 2m pool that my wife bought in January as it was very cheap. I hang my head in shame over my comment at the time that we would probably never get to use it. It's been a godsend these last few days. Who knew that flies were so attracted to bodies of water?
The grass is always greener.
