The club and its hierarchy needs to take a long hard look at itself after the Middlesbrough debacle. This is definitely not a way to run a football club. You need to have people in charge that have real relevant experience. Not a young whipper snapper with his so called fitness expert cycling chum. Honestly, what has one sport where you sit on your arse got to do with another where you run and move on the grass.
As for the manager it may be true to an extent that his hands are tied in certain matters, but a lot of what he did on Sunday was illogical. I’ve been wanting for weeks for him to play Edwards in Central Defensive Midfield particularly since Madsen got injured. There were signs in the match whenever Edwards was able to run forward with the ball that he is arguably better in that role anyway, compared to back line defence. He played that role many times last season to great acclaim. I’ve no idea what the substitutes were all about. Too late, and wrong players brought on after we went 2 down. 11 goals conceded in 3 matches and none scored. That’s relegation form obviously. Something needs to be sorted, and urgently! |

I visit this site daily but rarely post but just wanted to say I almost always agree with what you say. I sit in Block G of South Africa Road and during various drubbings over the past few years I have booed and also had people turn and stare at me as if there’s something wrong with me. Strange!
What I find alarming is that I actually think various people at the club (Reuben, Hoos, Nourry…) actually still think they know what they are doing, whereas in actual fact (in my opinion, at least), they haven’t got a bloody clue. |

Totally agree with your comments and we really do need to question the executive management, totally incompetent. A painful experience and gut wrenching given the lack of effort and professionalism, and total mismanagement in terms of tactics and substitutions. Stéphan doesn’t sound convincing and really doesn’t know what to do. My bad luck I also attended with a Brentford supporting work colleague whose brother in law was down from Middlesbrough for the game. The 3 pints of Guinness no where near enough to deaden the pain beforehand. The Brentford guy even had a bet for us to lose 4-0, I went for just 2-0 thinking we would try and pack the defence out to try and keep the score line respectable. Hackney was a joy to watch, they are definitely the best team I’ve seen this season, look at least two divisions above us. They just tore us apart and should have scored more. As the Brentford guy said to me on the way out, how do we keep getting it so wrong season after season! |

The relationship with Ruben is turning for me, I mean come on what is the point?
He's pouring good money after bad and for what?
I appreciate the 2m a month but it's like being stuck in a bad relationship going nowhere, Maybe better for both parties to part ways if he can't be bothered to actually take an interest.
If we don't jump we'll never know, the grass could be greener but even if it isn't, it's been 11 yrs of this now something has to change for better or worse. |

I am pretty out of touch with what is happening in the Premier League as I don't have any subscriptions to live football streaming services. I only watch the highlights on Youtube, just to see the goals. The gentrification of live football is a long term process, although it sounds like the sport is becoming ever more Byzantine on the pitch. It seems a world away from the Championship.
As for MajorShotKneesHoop's point about Trump, we already know the answer. The documentary 'Small Potatoes: Who Killed The USFL?' shows how Trump managed not only to destroy the club he owned, but the entire USFL league.
In the oppo profile James told us Boro 'look to dominate the midfield'. This would create problems for us at any time, let alone now with so many players injured. |

A good point that this game was a continuation of the Southampton game, only this time Sheffield United declared at half time. It feels like we can't stop opposition goals, and we can't score.
Obviously all sorts of things wrong, which have been endlessly discussed on the forum. QPR are in a bad situation, and have tried to fashion various modes of escape, such as the development and the resale model, without much success. The development model was the bone of contention with Warburton (and we knew that Warburton was well-disposed to youth development before arriving at QPR, so if he couldn't make it work it was unlikely anyone else could). The resale model had been derailed by our numerous injuries.
One thing Andy Sinton kept saying during the commentary (and as Marshy said), was that there was nobody for the defenders to pass to, so they kept reverting to long, hopeful balls. We could get away with this when we had Burrell, but not without him. There is not enough movement off the ball to create realistic options for passes. We are not playing as a unit.
I am guessing that Stéphan is getting frustrated as he doesn't have many levers to pull. |

Thank you for, well, putting together some nice words around a memory probably best dispatched to some part of the brain usually reserved for all events after the 4th pint of Guinness. No one will take you to task for this not looking like a game where a slightly different selection would have been transformative and removing Esquerdinha from the scene of the crime was a genuine act of kindness for all 18,000 or so in the area, but what was the logic of bringing on Smyth for the falling over on his knees act and moving Vale to left back when the bench had Cook and Mbengue champing at the bit?
Well played that pigeon, 8/10 for doing what pigeons do.
