Three game week nonsense debunked for good
by Myke at 14:50 17 Mar 2026

Hopefully having won game three (away from home with a one day less ‘turnaround than Leicester, who were at home twice) we can finally debunk the nonsense theory about being somehow disadvantaged more than any other Championship club. All the theories can be binned. Have Charlton more resources than we have? QPR 0 Middllesborough 4. Middlesbrough 0 Charlton 1. Not exactly a local derby for Charlton either. It is either (or both) self-prophesying psychological rubbish or a complete lack of effort by the players. So please no more defeatism simply because eleven fit young men have to run around a bit three times in eight days

Football licensing scheme proposals - proof of liquidity
by KensalT at 12:51 17 Mar 2026

It's a mystery to me how everything the new Independent Football Regulator does seems to go completely under the radar.

A new licensing scheme has been proposed that will require clubs to:

"show liquidity to meet their financial commitments and cope with "stress" such as relegation or withdrawal of owner funding. Club liquidity will be monitored on an ongoing basis by the IFR which can also impose measures such as “reducing expenditure or restructuring debt”. (Players not counted as liquid assets as “clubs cannot readily realise their value outside transfer windows”). Clubs must also show evidence of “having meaningfully consulted" with fans."

Seems like a significant development to me but there's nothing about it on any of the major news websites (yet!)

Maybe the financial gurus can pick the bones out of what it might mean for clubs like QPR.

Some great stuff here. Marsh v Bowles at LR, a niggly match I remember well. Rangers attendance 22k, Arsenal’s 17. Scum losing 7-1. Brentford in division 4. Man U in division 2 in front of 56k!

Bodø Glimt
by goodlife at 06:58 17 Mar 2026

A small club from a small, windy town far north of the Arctic Circle —— somehow keeps outplaying some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Tonight they might even reach the CL quarter finals, already leading 3–0 ( a 3 goal advantage doesn’t guarantee anything, WE know…)
Along the way they’ve beaten Manchester City, Atlético Madrid, and last season’s finalists Inter Milan home and away. Apparently no one told them they weren’t supposed to do that.
The football is surprisingly enjoyable: swift combinations, tidy skills, honest work rate. They seem to know when the opponent is off balance and it’s time to go for it — and when it’s better to just keep the shape.
Moments like this don’t come very often. Must give hope to anybody, really. Enjoy Cheers.

Sittin' on a dock in R' way... Pompey drifting by QPR vs Portsmouth Match Threa
by Spaceman_P at 06:37 17 Mar 2026

Early, just because...

I feel confidence must be slightly elevated in the camp due to Saturday's win.

Lets face it, this game is a must win game to at least prime the flip-fops and sun cream plus ready potential hamstring scanners this summer at Heston.

Lads will beat Pompey 2-1 this week... a happy day at Loftus Road.

I'm seeing goals from Kone and Smyth if he isn't falling over somewhere.

Marvin Gaye saw it and sung it.... Pompey drifting by....

Poku and hamstrings
by andrew1302 at 18:02 16 Mar 2026

Poku was having treatment at Coombe Grove in Bath. I live nearby and was told on several occasions he was seeing a physio there. Question is as we have half the planet of physios working at and for the club why go to a physio in Bath? Maybe Nouury could avoid answering that one!

OK, it's the bit between White City and Marylebone but i imagine the knock-on effect for West London will be difficult.

Chelsea fined £10.75m

Absolute joke of a fine - should be a 1000 times more. Plus points deduction, removal from all cup competitions, cancellation of previous cup and league wins, demolition of Stamford Bridge, removal from the pages of history!!

Resale for Saturday

Anyone else not able to list their season ticket for resale on Saturday? Usual part of the eticketing site says I have no tickets to manage and can't see any resale tickets listed on the seat map. Not had this issue before.

Corners
by loftboy at 17:13 15 Mar 2026

For as long as I can remember getting a corner was a waste of time, usually hit the first man or we’d try some stupid short ball routine and the ball would end up back with our keeper.
Finally with Madsen and now Vale we actually lose a threat. Very refreshing.

Alfie Lloyd first Lincoln goal
by tkqpr at 11:45 15 Mar 2026

https://www.skysports.com/foot

My local team to me and since his loan to Lincoln i dont think he has started any games but always comes on for a 10 minute cameo, putting himself about and today got his reward.

Jack Moylan is a player though. He would certainly make it higher up the leagues, but has had a few injuries last coule of years but seems to be flying now.
