I’m sure we’ve all done a few. This morning I’m walking around Brookside, Liverpool, site of the Scouser series. The pics I take will have Mrs Boston thinking I’m a nice bloke, myself, the words ‘video nasty’ comes to mind.
as there was some chat as to how Ted is doing I got in touch with his son David directly for a discrete update.
I had been to footy with David & Ted a few times and had some work contact with David, so it wasn't too random an inquiry.
Ted's health is, as expected, deteriorating and he is now being cared for in a hospice. He is getting great care and has all of his family with him, but further than that I didn't ask.
I'm sure we will get an update from his lads when there is further news; both used to be on the old site, and possibly this one, but haven't posted for many years.
This incredibly sad news, even if expected. Ted had been pretty frank as to the prognosis, but that doesn't make it any easier to accept.
I told David that everyone will be devastated to hear this and to send very best wishes from all of us here to Ted and the family.

Number one is incontestably Richard Ord. Two years without a single appearance, never again played another minute of professional football.
Ned Zelic is also a shoe in, a club record signing who made four appearances. At least he was gone relatively quickly.
Armel Tchakounté: signed to help us along to the Premier League. Did he make an appearance? Even Wikipedia can't decide if it's four or none.

'Being a professional footballer at QPR is the culmination of a lifelong dream. I needed the minutes and, with Julien and Steve Bould in attendance at Heston, it was a chance to put myself back into First Team contention. I was bursting with pride to make my debut, as I came on for the final 25 minutes. My first contribution was to be a part of the defensive wall defending a free kick. Successfully blocking the powerful shot with my face, I eventually regained consciousness 2 hours later, missing several teeth with my jaw wired shut. The staff said it was probably nothing and I would be back in *REDACTED* weeks.
'Wearing my new face guard, neck and wrist braces, I was ready to get back to training. I don’t remember exactly what happened next but it involved the wrong choice of studs and a medium-sized cone. Either way, the staff said it was probably nothing and that the cone would come out by itself over time. As a precaution, I was given an inflatable ring to sit on and assigned light duties for *REDACTED* weeks.
'Returning once again, I found that training was a sparsely-attended affair. Several players were on crutches, some in bath-chairs with blankets over their knees, attended by their nurses. We practised defensive drills for almost 9 minutes, losing 3 players to hypertension, scurvy and animal attacks before the session was halted. Two more players were lost on the way back to the changing rooms, literally this time: nobody could find them.
'I was now the fittest man in the squad and named captain. It was the highlight of my career so far but, tragically, I was struck down with a finger injury, sustained whilst texting my dad to say I was playing.

I am getting more and more frustrated with Mr Vale. Yes, he has now scored a goal and I expect everyone will say how good he is but he consistently ranks low or is bottom on performance assessments. Why? Clearly he has ability but something appears to be lacking or am I being unfair? Whenever there is a failed tackle that lets the opposition through on goal, a miss hit pass, a pass to nowhere or a useless cross from a free kick or corner or a shot that goes way way over the bar at the opposite end of the pitch (and my eyes at that distance cannot see who it was) I now ask the people around me, was that Vale again? and they simply shrug their shoulders as f to say 'of course' and nod! What is anyone saying to him after such performances?
I looked up the meanings of 'Vale' and it says "a long low depression between high points" and Latin for "Good bye!" (note that is Good bye NOT Good BUY!) I really want him to do well but somehow it seems to be taking far far too long for hm to correct the things that a lot of people who rate the players can see him doing week in week out!
Yes, he DID score a goal on Wednesday but, on balance, does he do more to help the team or hinder?
Seems to be not a thing anymore! Delap just took one that was a foul throw on at least 3 aspects. Our own Mbengue always releases the ball in front of his head as do most players these days, as an ex ref this is really bugging me.
.....because I sure don't!! Im wondering when the hell he will be back same as im wondering about chair ! The lack of clarity over our injured players is really starting to piss me off ...Nourry.
I thought we looked quite leggy today. That said we were basically beaten by Liam Millar, a player I would have loved to have seen come to us a few years ago and probably should have pursued. A Lee Cook type player if ever there was one. He is great to watch.
As for us, at least we have a week to analyse, get some players fit again and come back swinging next week. Thought the gaffer spoke honestly and sensibly afterwards as well.
Measured. Perhaps Madsen could have started but thought he picked quite a good starting 11. We are going to lose matches. It's how we react that counts!
.....won the game , better squad won today's game , as I said in the match thread seems on the whole you have to over spend and break the rules to get out of this league. Its a sad indictment of the modern game.
One thing that p*sses me off is after a loss, there is always a pile on here on one player, as being fricking useless.
Todays attack by the boo boys was full on Harvey Vale. Appreciate it wasnt his best game, was poor today, but many others were very poor today also. Stand up Smythie, Kolli, Poku, Kamara, Adamson amd Varane and Kone, when they came on.
But yes lets all pile on one player. The guy scored a goal, entirely crafted by himself in the last game and effectively put the game out of reach at a critical time in the.game - just before half time.
