...has just posted this on Twitter.

I had some time for him, even after his dumb comments about Hery, but that there is just scary.

They are both milking this for all its worth. Racism is just a bandwagon for people to use so they can gain abit of attention these days.

John Barnes latest comments about black managers are pathetic.

I don't "tweet" with these Twits so I don't understand what the local MP has done now to stir up emotions - apart from him making money on a book about Big Cyril's exploits, being on the bandwaggon with his snout in the parliamentary expenses trough and taking a very dubious character for a wife. So what is really bothering everybody......him standing behind Milliband? I would have thought that was his privilege. Just don't wise him up too much. He probably thinks he is doing quite nicely.

For what it's worth, free speech isn't an unassailable right.

Try standing in the middle of a crowd of people and shouting that the holocaust didn't happen, and see what happens.

The right to say whatever we like within the law is indeed a privilege, since it's not something you can do in a majority of countries, worldwide. And it should be treated with care. Abuse of the hard-won right is one sure way to have further restrictions placed upon it.

I agree with Danczuk, but not necessarily with his motivation behind this row blowing up.

Well, freedom of speech is a privilege and it's also my privilege to say that Simon Danczuk is a prick. Nevermind though Simon, we'll see how carefully your wife uses her free speech when the inevitable I'm A Celeb or Celeb Big Brother come knocking.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

I thought you would be an advocate for making it an inalienable right?

Agree, free speech comes with a responsibility and whilst anyone can exercise their right to free speech they also have to live with the consequences. It's why slander laws were invented and why most politicians never give a straight answer to a straight question in case it comes back to bite them. Which in turn turns the public off to politics (but not as much as them having their hands in the till) and then politicians wonder why no one turns out to vote?

Thank goodness for a close run in to take our minds off May!

Katie Hopkins is a female Jeremy Clarkson. However, slagging her off seems acceptable. When I dare suggest that Jeremy Clarkson is actually a bit of nob I find I get a distrustful look. Like I'm the illegitimate son of Germaine Greer, Elton John's orange husband and Lenin.

Danczuk and his wife are a pair of self-obsessed half wits and shocking ambassadors for Rochdale. At least she has had the good grace to retire from local politics rather than continue to provide local young women with the worst possible role model. Sadly her porn-obsessed husband seems incapable of doing the right thing under almost any circumstances.
http://www.rochdaleonline.co.uk/news-features/2/news-headlines/95011/i-watch-por

Getting into a slanging match with a one-day-wonder "celebrity" 6 weeks before a General Election and to then try to turn it to some sort of crusade for free speech is about as stupid as calling his Party Leader a liability, something which I expect will be long remembered by the Labour whips long after Milliband buys a kilt and moves into Downing Street. So don't expect any favours for Rochdale if Labour and Danczuk win.

My old man spent 5 years fighting from Egypt to Berlin because he believed that Voltair was right to say "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it". Its idiots like Danczuk that ruin another slice of this country every time they open their mouths without engaging their brains.

If ever a constituency needed to get rid of its MP then surely this is the time for Rochdale to get rid of this dreadful man and replace him with someone who actually takes the position of MP seriously and thinks about Rochdale first and self second no matter what Party they represent.

I'm far from being a fan of Danczuk or his party, but that's completely over the top. And to expect Rochdale to suddenly find itself with an MP who puts the town first ahead of their own interests or that of their party is a pipe dream, I'm afraid. One could say that your old man fought his way across two continents precisely so that idiots could speak without engaging their brain, but that doesn't ruin anything about this country.

Danczuk has demeaned the office he has held for 5 years with childish twitter battles, a book that could and should have been published after he left office, countless Rochdale references that have done nothing to improve the dismal national disgrace that Rochdale has become and in the end he has even crapped on his own Party Leader.

I can't think of anything that has been achieved in his 5 years thanks to his intervention.
The tax payers will have forked out the better part of £1m for his salary and expenses during his time in office and we have received exactly what in return?
I would have thought that on becoming an MP he might have shown some respect for the town and people he represents. Essentially he has succeeded in making a bad situation worse. Everything the man has said and done for 5 years has been for his own purposes and Rochdale is poorer because of him.
Sadly there are many similar examples across British politics of people who prefer their own voices rather than the voices of those they represent. For them politics is a job with a large remuneration attached rather than a job with a large responsibility attached and their first thought is for their bank balance.

I don't think anyone's ever intimated that free speech is an 'unassailable right' anyway because no matter what you say or believe, to be questioned or challenged on it is healthy up to a certain point.

The real issue boils down to honourable intentions and a genuine belief in what one is saying. This is, of course, the exact opposite to what that attention seeking skank Hopkins does.

Quite, but whether Clarkson calls all Mexicans lazy aged 60 or Hopkins calls all fat people lazy aged 40 it's still the same shite.
People of a certain persuasion seem to provide a market for it though and as long as they do then they'll carry on doing it.

A lot of the above about Danczuk is entirely correct. Now, let's look at what he does for the town..

In his election leaflet of 2010, he made a great deal of (using a market trader as support) how he saw the decline of Rochdale market, and under his watch how much it would improve and revert to its former glory.

Look at it now.

In 5 years he's written a book, made a lot of money in salary, (not to mention the vast amount of expenses he's claimed) his Mrs has got onto the celeb bandwagon and the market has..... ?

Waste of space.

All this because Danczuk has got the brains of a pea and refuses to attend the raising of "his" national flag over the Town Hall, bur sees fit to pander to another nation and allows that nation to raise its flag over our Town Hall. You wouldnt see that in France etc.... I dont see why we should accept any other countries founding day , let them celebrate in their own way , but also let us celebrate our National day without being called racist.

He needs their block vote though. Cosy up to the Biradari leader and that's 2,000 votes guaranteed.

The less said about postal vote fraud in areas of high population of Pakistani descent the better.
