And maybe he did have an offer for a job that starts in August and thought he would walk now and have another month to clear his head of Rochdale stuff and then start thinking more clearly about City stuff? It depends some players develop at a later stage at our level look at Rathbone, at the top level a good example might be Grealish only breaking into the England first team at 25.
Under 23s have become fashionable as a way for larger clubs to pick up the best academy products from the lower leagues U16 - U19 for relatively cheap and see if they can swim at the top level. If they don't then it's not a huge loss for them if they do then they either make it into the first team or get sold on at a huge profit. | |
