Everything the board have done up to this point you have to commend. And 4000 gates is reward for that.
They are experienced enough in business. Maybe not football. But I am certain Cameron and his support network at looking at this with far less emotion and purely business. They will have a cut off date in mind and it won’t be just yet. But, I have every faith they will make the call if they need to. It’s either that or the expensive training ground is getting out on hold while we navigate the national league again.
They have invested heavily. The academy is a perfect example. They cannot afford to risk losing all that again.
My worry is they genuinely didn’t have a plan for finding themselves in this position. They claimed they had a plan for McNulty going but they absolutely have not planned for this.
They wanted continuity and a level of consistency with Watson and he has absolutely don’t the polar opposite. He is lost on the sidelines and the only other suggestion I could see at the moment is somebody appointed to stand alongside him and Carl.
When he said he was an admirer of Russell Martin alarm bells rang in my head. And he’s from the Mike Williamson camp. Both well knowing for being absolute charlatan’s of the game. |  | | |

Exactly. The snobbery about the NL still makes no sense because there’s nobody in our squad from last season who people were saying “we shouldn’t have kept them they won’t be good enough for L2”.

Feels like our confidence is paper thin. Tuesday we got ahead early then bagged a fortuitous second - great finish but it came from a defensive error from nothing. Today we didn't and pretty much fell apart from their first goal onwards. Also I think Shrews are dreadful and unless things change, we'll be scrapping with them for survival | | | |

6 players aged 21 or under in todays starting line-up, the lack of experience is palpable.. . Ramming, Tasker, Taylor and Wilson all under 21 and Moss at 25 were the defence..KSD and Brown making up the 6 most with only their appearances this season as experience of EFL football, these kids need help. You can get away with a couple of novice professionals but 6 in one team is never going to end well. We need to get some older, more experienced players back in the team urgently. I get that we are down to the bare bones but this situation is ridiculous....There is no point in blaming Ramming or Wilson, they are here to get experience around older players who can help them, not to be fed to the wolves every week because the older heads are all injured ... and some havent been fit since they arrived here.
And making Mani Captain is fairly pointless since he spends his time half a pitch away from where the encouragement is needed... we need a vocal leader on the pitch badly.... |  | | |

Confidence is now at rock bottom after the second half to-day.
It is fair to say we don't have leaders on the pitch. We don't have a settled team and the young defenders/loanees are not being given a fair chance to perform. Notwithstanding that I feel that Ramming and Wilson need to be dropped from the starting XI.
There is some quality in the squad but not in critical positions. We do need a dominant centre back and a goal scorer. At the moment we are toothless up front despite the efforts of Brown.
More than than we need clear tactics and game management with players in the right positions and substitutions made at the right times. Why Francis was not replaced at half time is a mystery and in any case I think that Gilmour and Baba are a better combination anyway.
Not sure that IW is a good judge of the calibre required in EFL2 or knows what his best team is on any given matchday.
Incidentally Shrewsbury were the better team against Fleetwood despite losing to-day so the performance on Tuesday was encouraging. We can get out of this mess in time but football is a results business. | | | |

Not literally - the interview was just empty words describing how we must improve, hilariously, in defence, attack and in transitions. And our effort levels too! (I’d add technical skill and physicality to that list as well by the way.)
But he seems to not have a clear plan, or is unable to explain where things are going wrong. That is a MASSIVE red flag. It means that the doctor is unable to diagnose the issue, let alone prescribe the correct medicine. | | | |

You cannot get away from the injury crisis, you just cant, players have been brought in to cover, who are not the players wanted despite what is said in interviews..the gaffer did come with a plan, and was backed by the board, but injury after injury the plan fell apart.
The keeper situation needs addressing, was always going to be a downgrade on Whatmuff, but this lad just dies not seen ready..I remember Waller being highly regarded when he was last here, so is it a case of this one having to play as part of the loan deal?
Defensively we are nowhere near what we wanted to be and ended up with a very inexperienced back 4.would we have been better yesterday with EEL, Beckwith ans Mcguire?
IW obviously loves his wingers, and we all drooled at Haynes coming back but hes injured ao somebody else is in that role.
Its only 16 weeks since wembley, and look at how the squad has changed, not only have we got new players, but we have new players to replace new players.. East and Gilmour have found the step up hard.
The forwards, we knew that Rodney could dissapoint, he has done in the past, but Mani has been the major dissapointment, its very sad to see hom so ineffective.
There are worrying signs with IW, he doesn't seem to have a presence.
Yesterday im sure he was as shocked as we all where by the way the second half went, after a very even first half. It was a shocker.
But with an inexperienced side who havent played together much, there isnt that togetherness and that will to fight for each other.
The National league success didnt happen overnight it was planned at a pace where improvement was implemented gradually.
The bonds and relationships were carved over time, into an unstoppable force.
We are there again now, new team,new relationships.
It takes time, but points need to won also..

I think irrespective of the injuries, which is obviously a major factor he has signed these players. I don’t buy the fact they are young and inexperienced. If that’s the case, what use are they? People are far too protective of ‘young players’. These lads are either going to make it or not. And let’s have it right… typically by the age of 20 the best ones are already playing at the top level.
You instantly know whether they will ever make the grade.
Just compare Ramming with Robert Sanchez. From the same club, similar path etc. Sanchez was brilliant for us. He had an error in him but that was because he actually did what a keeper should do. Come audaciously for crosses etc. Ramming is not good enough and you can see it immediately.
Wilson the same. He’s playing like it’s academy football. No bite, no urgency, casual. No doubt he will upload clips on his social media to portray all is good and how impressive he looks in our strip.
It’s not the time for allowing people to learn. We needed stability and strength mentally and physically. We’ve got too many loans players, and the the signings made across the back are poor too.
He’s got the balance of the squad completely wrong and the money needed to be spent wisely and unfortunately it looks been blown.
Interestly. Maguire and Sherring are surely not a product of MRKT. So he’s also been allowed to veer off from this. A question for the fans forum maybe.
All is not lost. But comparing us to York which is only fair given our journey.
Keeper aside, they did not have a single loan player in the squad yesterday. We’ve rocked the ship.
I am not picking out those two players because I can do it to many more. But comparing them with Perry and Whatmuff as a recent example. Absolutely worlds apart. | | | |
