| Ok so seriously on 20:08 - Nov 2 with 2633 views | Saintandy66 | I know it's ex Pompey man but I think Gary O'Neil would do a good job did well with Bournemouth unlucky to get the sack but you can now see the direction they wanted to go and had the whole team sold from under him at Wolverhampton he is a no nonsense but also a good man manager | | | |

I don’t think Gerrard or Rodgers would lower themselves they’d see it as a step backwards and very unlikely to be invited anyway. Just can’t see it.

He'd have my support despite his origins. I think he'd do a good job but I wonder if he'd join us. He started his coaching career at Liverpool and has only been associated with PL clubs. I doubt he'd stoop this low. I think it will be an unknown European coach.

He's being linked with a return to Wolves.

I agree 100 per cent. He won the title with Rangers as a manager. He has won PL titles as a player, worked under some top managers, managed big players in the PL with Villa, despite that not being as successful. He's a big name, a person most players would respect instantly having won titles. He needs a way back in to.prove himself. I would be happy if it was him but seems unlikely with our owners. I.cpuld get over him.beimh scouse. Carrick also wouldn't be a bad choice either. [Post edited 2 Nov 20:26]

Sh1t! That means they won't get near our worst ever Premiership team record!

| Ok so seriously on 20:33 - Nov 2 with 2368 views | SonicBoom | Gary O Neill was my choice before Still rocked up. I think he'd be as good as anyone. Gerrard would be a big name but hes yet to prove he can manage lower level players like Lampard has. Make no mistake, for an ambitious manager its a very attractive job. Great chance to win games and get promoted. Let's hope they finally get an appointment right. | | | |

But WS was an ambitious manager who had that chance as well as a few weeks pre-seaason to get settled in

It would be an attractive job with a decent keeper and a decent Centre Forward, something we lack.

By that time we could get whoever makes the semis (or even better, wins the FIFAe Tournament). Straight into post and would also have the January window to stamp their mark on recruitment. | Ok so seriously on 08:28 - Nov 3 with 1701 views | jopreston | Mark Robins. John Eustace. Overlooked but both have done very well with severely limited budgets and quality. Carrick maybe. Gerrard no. But man, are there no others? Seems to be the same names every time.
| Ok so seriously on 09:27 - Nov 3 with 1589 views | dixiefrog | Makes no difference who we might hope or wish for, SR will come up with a complete left-wing bloke who nobody has ever heard of but most importantly will have big ears and will be CHEAP. Irrespective of who gets the job I would like the new manager to instill some old fashioned shit-housery and passion back into the players. When did we last see some passive aggressive behavior from any of our players, like arguing with the ref, throwing water bottles, winding up the opposition, geeing up the opposition supporters or simple tactical time wasting. Like the old saying goes ‘we don’t expect you to win but we do expect you to try’. | |

Fonte might well turn out to be the next Vincent Kompany of football management because, like him, he was a great captain. But, unfortunately for us, he's still playing at the age of 41. If he does become a manager, I'd like to see him here. We need a miracle worker here right now. My choice would be someone who has worked miracles on limited resources: Kjetil Knutsen. I'll get some real pelters for this, but another one I think would succeed here is Andy Woodman, and, with his contacts, he'd probably get us the best group of Premier League loanees in the Championship, including a very good goalkeeper and centre forward this January. Anyone on the ticket system gets a vote. If the votes are tied then we go down to a Celebrity Deathmatch type affair between two of the Saints social media influencers......
