Innocent until proven surely...... If he is innocent, mud sticks and will be with him always. If guilty tough sh-t.
I'm going through some stuff at the moment trying to get someone off my books and off some social media sites as just found out they were convicted of a serious offence last year and it was not publicised, had to apply for the relevant papers through the courts and then send them off.

Often if someone pleads guilty and others not guilty or if the defendants are under 17 none of the case can be reported until the jury has reached a verdict on the basis the jury would be aware some had pleaded guilty and might form an opinion that they are all guilty.
In the case of people being named pre conviction I think the general legal feeling is that suppose a witness gets to hear of the trial and could aide either the defence or prosecutors and that all involved in the court process should be named and totally open, not necessarily fair if you are innocent though. |  |
