I find it hard that some can't work out that of course a businessman would work on the parts of the pier complex which would maximise their revenue.
Good luck to them too, the recent development of the Copperfish chippy/restaurant is a huge improvement on the old Toby bar.
Of course, I'd like to see the pier being restored to former glory, but it's not going to happen anytime soon is it. |  |

Take out the Swans at Liberty and you ve little reason to go to Swansea .

I don't think we can afford to just sit back and let the Private Sector cherry pick. There has to be both regional and local government pressures on these organisations. Take the Elysium, Albert Hall and the Palace for example.
How can the LA allow the Private Sector to let these bulidings run down to such a degree temporary fencing has to be put round term to stop falling masonary landing on Joe Public. I bet they are in a right state after the storm today.
With regards the pier, how can we allow planning permission for a lifeboat Station and foreshore resteraunts without the development of the pier being tied in with it?
I doubt there are many cities of Swansea's size with so many iconic building in such disrepair. You could argue they are our only iconic buildings as well, other than the tower and the Guildhall. |  |

I don't 100% know so don't take that as read, back to the subject of the Pier something need to be put in place to enable its restoration doubt the Council has the funds though, maybe Ameco themselves could get an investor in with the sole intention or restoring it, the Bolloms still own it [the first link says it] they're using the Pier to promote their other facilities so they should make the Pier restoration a priority IMO.
