Agree. The vast majority are glory hunting "fans" who chose another club rather than the city they're from as the home town club weren't particularly good or fashionable back in the day. |
Growing up in the Glory days of Harry Gregg then Harry Griffiths managing the Swans, all my mates were Liverpool, Man U, Leeds & Arsenal "followers"
They used to wonder why I bothered a team in the depths of the Fourth Division.

I know many people of a similar age who support Liverpool purely on the basis that they were winning everything when we were growing up. I was the kid who got laughed at in the playground because I supported little Swansea whilst they supported the mighty reds.
In the following years it transpires that I’ve been to Anfield more times than these super fans (I love chucking that one out into conversation). Those are the same fans who stopped spouting about the mighty reds once Man U took their crown and the barron patch arrived. |  |
