Once every few years I dust off my golf clubs and spend a few hours embarrassing myself in the wind and rain.
Next Monday is to be the day.
But I’ve never golfed in Swansea/surrounding area.
Can anyone suggest a course we can just rock up to and play without being members? I’ve had a bit of a google but haven’t seen any municipal courses. Morriston’s website talks about players needing to be “a certain standard” - we’d struggle to play to 32 on a good day. |  | | |  |

Maybe try Swansea Bay golf club in Jersey Marine. Not a bad course, especially the more linksy section. Could be a bit wet on the inland holes though but I expect most will be like that.
Pennard is a stunning course. Up there amongst the best courses I've ever played. Ground conditions will be fine but tough course on a windy day.
There are many others. Clyne is tidy. Fairwood Park is pretty good. List goes on. | | | |

Earlswood has to be the nicest municipal course I’ve ever played. And for 8 quid (Mondays) it was unbelievable value. | | | |

You'd be OK at Morriston no problems at all but the course isn't the best at this time of year
Would recommend Earlswood definitely or even Clyne |  | | |
