Rookie Adam Lyon killed today at Isle of Man TT, time as surely come to stop these meets now, every year there's at least 3 killed, bloody madness IMO.

Not really one for stopping people racing if they want on a closed track or closed public road circuit but have to admit hearing on the radio yesterday that 60 riders have died since 2000 both surprised and horrified me.

And people want the grand national banned!! No way have 60.horses died at Aintree since 2000.

I’ve been a motorcyclist for 40 yrs mate and lve been round race tracks and that’s where the racing should take place, not round twisty roads with walls and houses and the like, l understand the adrenaline buzz l used love belting round a track on track days, talking to workmates this morning and one who is a racer who raced in Ireland last week and he agreed with me to a point, as in more safe guards are needed, another lad is/was a motocross rider who is lucky to be alive himself after breaking his neck last year.

The problem is mate you are trying to tell other people what they can and cannot do, no-one has forced anyone into the TT. They do it out of their own free will, they know the risks. You want to ban something that has nothing to do with you, it should be up to the people involved. |  |

Racing motor cyclists have a choice. Horses don't. They simply get fed,watered,pampered but only for the Owner s benefit as a horse is useless to them unless it wins or can be a sire or dam .
Motor cyclists drive a transporter ,horses get carried in one whether they like it or not .

The problem is mate you are trying to tell other people what they can and cannot do, no-one has forced anyone into the TT. They do it out of their own free will, they know the risks. You want to ban something that has nothing to do with you, it should be up to the people involved. |
I don't necessarily want it banned, maybe moves to try and make it safer and /or restrictions on who can take part, anyway its just my opinion I have no influence over any of it. | |

It's the "go to" answer to say horses don't have a choice, the horses have super lives and the sheer power of a fully fit racehorse would blow most away.
They don't get to that standard without great care and dedication.
