The Mcburnie money 20:04 - Jul 31 with 2092 viewsmagicdaps10

Will now give us a chance in the last week of the window?

Petterson, new striker and centre half..... As long as no one leaves, we could be a far stronger squad.

Sad that he has gone but this could be a good thing, the yanks now have money to play with and if true to their word..... We will see some action in the coming week.

I think we may even have a list of targets.
Did Bidwell come in after players' contract elapsed, Wilmot came in when Ayew was off the books & Peterson when we knew the McBurnie chase was nearing its conclusion.
It's as Pearman and Birch described.

The new squad does need time to gel.

We won't get another centre back, we have 3 - the same amount as last year, plus the likes of Harries.

Say we lose VDH due to injury, we go with Rodon and Wilmott?
2 young centre halves in this league, it is asking for trouble.

So we had to get rid of Ayew to sign someone on loan? And sell a player for £20m to sign someone for £500k? Farcical if true.

Look back at Pearlman and Birch's comment - players have to leave before we bring players in in.
Why is it farcical?
Do you think we should carry on spending millions more than we can afford? That's what got us into this position.
That £20 million player cost us £350,000 perhaps we should have ignored him and paid £12 million for a 30 year old 15 goal a season man on £80,000 a week!
I'm beginning to think out time in the PL went to the heads of some fans

If that wasn't the plan, why sign Wilmott?
I even think he could be ahead of Rodon in the team tbh.

You can’t buy for the bench in the championship unless you have money to burn. Just have to cover injuries as best you can. Wilmot has been brought in to effectively replace CCV. If we were to sell VDH, that’s different. We are not going to buy new first team players for the bench as back up. I reckon that goes for up front too if Baston is to stay.

All depends if the Yanks are willing to spend the money.

I'd be surprised.

I hope Baston's up for it.

Wilmott can play in Midfield and by all accounts is more effective there, his versatility could enable us to bring another centre half.
I would agree that the cover is there but in terms of experience in such an important position, I must admit that it does concern me.
