Actually more the extremists of the brexit party. Previously Kippers.
Remember that their purpose at present is to shift the 15% or so that are stubbornly stuck as ‘Brexit party intended voters’ to the Tories. Otherwise they can’t win a majority in all likelihood.
It’s the reason the language has become more extreme and inflammatory. They are appealing to Farage’s little crew. The whole time has changed.
The issue they have is that for every % point they pick up from that group, they are likely to lose the same in the South East and South West to the LibDems. Picking up Northern leave seats loses them London remain seats. It’s a dangerous game, particularly as, in my opinion, there are swathes of the country, not least in Wales, where ardent Brexit supporters may well be unable to vote Tory when it comes to it and may choose Brexit party or actually to just not vote if they can’t support Labour. | | | |
