Does that make any difference, it could still be nationalised, couldn't it??

Yes but it means shareholders wouldn't be fvcked over.

Shareholders that include pension funds used by local councils etc.

Surely, they still need a franchise to operate in the UK?

Still same company, same organisation. Just moved a parent company offshore.

Should Corbyn get in, expect more companies to do similar.

This isnt new. Most of the FS companies in the UK set up subsiduaries in various EU countries over the last 24 months so they could continute operating and serving their clients there after Brexit. This is a similar sort of thing but in reverse.

How does this impact on taxing their profits?

Would imagine they book their revenues offshore through somewhere like Luxembourg or Dublin like a lot of corporates do. I stand to be corrected though.

But i know the likes of Amazon and Apple pay tax rates at the "special" levels in these tax havens despite making billions of revenues in the UK and paying nominal amounts of tax of 0.0001% or whatever.

When "Tories" "scare" people into saying that companies will run away very very fast should a Marxist goverment get in, this is the sort of thing they mean.

This may sound radical but tell apple etc that if they don't pay their taxes from profit made over here then they can't sell their stuff here. Sadly it won't happen.

I don't have an Apple product, don't have Netflix, use ebay rather than Amazon, don't use gmail avoid Google and don't use Facebook.
