It's brutal...but after 30 years of elections 18:55 - Dec 14 with 2736 viewsThrasher6

It's all about self interest...as opposed to the greater good. People are selfish...."what's in it for me" is always quoted...and it's spot on. I have had friends over the years....and I look at them...invariably with children..doing the "anything at all costs" road. It's society as we know it now. That is just the workplace...

And it's comical.....because they wont tell anyone...until they draw the curtain back in the polling booth....

You obviously have reading comprehension problems.

He was summarising the Article, this is a quote from the article.
"Labour are not part of the solution in Wales, they are a source of the problem. "

So as a staunch labour supporter how do interpret that comment from the opposition and if you disagree explain what labour has done for Wales ouside the Cardiff bubble.

I also came from a labour family and voted labour until Balir got in and have not voted for them since. I am in no way a Conservative.

The major problem with MPs today is that they are paid too much and make to much in graft due to their positions.
It is no longer a "cause" it is now just a very easy very well paid job with brilliant pensions.

Labour has blatantly pursued a "keep em poor, keep em voting Labour" strategy! Not only does it sustain the political status quo, it also feeds the zero end product 'jobs-for-the-boys' patronage in third sector that parasitically exploits and relies upon poverty.

It's so surreal to see many lefties ignore the fact that Wales has a transport network (ITV current affairs) that belongs to the 1960's. In fact it was reported that our transport system last saw meaningful/significant investment during the 1960's. OVER FIFTY YEARS AGO!

Poor Welsh infrastructure ='s poor Welsh economy. How come I did not hear any commitment and pledges about improving that from Labour during the election campaign. Correct me and enlighten me if I've missed something????

Also why haven't any of these Labour supporters noticed that poor and deprived areas of Wales still remain poor and deprived despite having many years of Westminster/Welsh Assembly Labour government. And to top it all there is appalling regional bias towards Cardiff/SE Wales on par with Thatcherite North/South divide.

It's not all the Conservatives fault!

Argus!

My grandfather and grandmother were fantastic people. Vince became a foreman in the mines at Ammanford and ran the Pick and Shovel...Ammanford Social Club...for many years. It was a sociallist club.....many miners fought with the International Brigade against Fascism in Spain. Their pictures were on the wall in the club.
My grandmother set up the Cooperative movement in the town...a means for people who couldnt afford it to get help with the basics. These two also spent their holidays educating themselves in summer schools. They were both working class. Boris couldn't even come close to them as people...they were people who were collectivist..."I do things...not for myself...but for the greater good"

And I am proud of them. Maybe we think a bit more about these people....they are the real inspiration. Not the vacuous nonsense we are confronted with.

Don’t you see the problem with hanging portraits of John Williams and Sam Morris on the wall of “a socialist club,” mate? They were Brigadistas, hard-line communists helping to enact the Soviet policy of ‘Class against Class’ on the Iberian peninsula. There’s a real possibility the two of them could have been involved in the assassination of socialists and anarchists.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

No doubt that transport links in South Wales are appalling and are a disincentive to business location.

There was meaningful investment in the M4 well after the 1960s though. After graduating in 1977 I spent the next few years working on the construction of the M4 between junctions 28 and 49. Most of that started in 1977 (there were a few small sections already there like the Port Talbot flyover which was then called the A48(M).

Totally disagree with the OP that people are voting for what's best for them. That is they voted out of self interest.
A majority of those who have been taken in by Boris will be worse off when we leave the EU proper at the end of 2020, but they voted for the principle of having control; even though a lot will suffer economically when their current jobs disappear. I take my hat off to them for sticking to their principles.
I myself voted Labour even though it would have hit my pocket if they got in.

We can see elements of selfishness everywhere in society with little incidents.Cars taking up two spaces outside peoples houses, A reluctance of drivers to let others out of junction, little incidents of road rage if someone makes a little error or take the wrong lane at a roundabout.Youngsters not giving up seats to women or elder people. Small thins i know, but indicators of selfishness imo.

Hey! Trampie don’t just down-arrow and run away you little bitch!

Come back and wow me with your encyclopaedic knowledge of la guerra civil espanola. Show me the ease with which you navigate Brenan’s labyrinth.

I’ve got a rotten hangover, I could do with a comedy tonic...

Edit: I’d like to extend that invitation to Hobo too. Ante up Ilyich, let’s see what you’ve got. Don’t be shy.

I’d happily call you a sanctimonious twát to your face.

I know it, that's why I never felt the need to call you on it. You should never say something on here you wouldn't say to someone's face, it's cowardly.

We can meet if you want though and shout sanctimonious tvvat at each other.

Quesrion for Thrasher, how do you KNOW I voted Tory?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

If she keeps to it this young lady is leading the way in which it should be done.

Good on the young lady, I wonder if she learnt that wage thing off Leanne Wood ?, probably not, lol.
She is been slated by the readers comments of the Daily Heil with comments along the line of not trusting her with the nations finances, this is what people on the left are up against.
