Who are responsible for the huge Conservative election win.
If you had respected the referendum result, I’m sure the Conservatives wouldn’t have had such a huge triumph.

So once again well done 👍
Let’s get ‘BREXIT DONE’ ✅

True but they’ve all taken a massive hit. Even in Neath the labour vote tanked by about 14%. Neath would be one of the last seats to stay labour if all of the others fell. It’s always been one of the safest in the country but now her majority is ‘only’ 5000.

It’s remarkable stuff and just shows how much they have failed.

Christina Rees will MP for Neath until she dies or retires...sadly

Yeah it’s unthinkable that labour would ever lose but their majority has gone from 27000 in the 90’s to 5000 or so now so they really need to be wary at the very least. No doubt they’ll carry on with the same old brand of toxic politics.

Did Labour even bother to campaign in Neath this time around? If they did I must have blinked and missed it.

The media didn't exactly help though did they? Swinson is the white elephant here, it was her insistence on having the election early.

The Lib Dems only had a handful of MPs. Totally irrelevant as a two thirds majority was needed.

Don’t think so. She didn’t turn up for the hustings either.

No it wasn’t, the election was eventually secured by a one line bill amending the FTPA. Even if labour had voted against it unanimously it would still have passed with LibDem votes.

Because Jo Swinson was going to be the next Prime Minister.

I wonder whether this government will use its majority to repeal the FTPA. Bad law drafted to satisfy coalition needs.

They have already said they will. It was in the Queen's speech.
They are also likely to implement the electoral commission recommendations to reduce the number of MPs to 600 and make all constituencies roughly the same size.

This will mean less seats in both Scotland and Wales who have more MPs per head of the population than England m

Really? I missed that. Good - I always liked the old system.

Thanks Felixstowe.
