Who are responsible for the huge Conservative election win.
If you had respected the referendum result, I’m sure the Conservatives wouldn’t have had such a huge triumph.

So once again well done 👍
Let’s get ‘BREXIT DONE’ ✅

Agreed they did, and he is a Euro sceptic, he should have at least said that he felt he would have preferred to leave, not said he was neutral anyway, it's a red Hering they lost partly because they ignored the referendum completely, but mostly because people didn't trust Corbyn and Old McDonell and they knew their manifesto was a wish list written up on the back of a fag packet in the pub, and completely unaffordable!

"didn't trust Corbyn and Old McDonell" after reading the bilge the Mail and the rest of Murdoch's empire spewed out. Notice they didn't run with anything about the Cons literature being 88% misleading? or Boris's antics and no-shows?

If you have Murcdoch in your back pocket you can win anything.

Thank you, goodnight and bollocks

As I keep saying over and over. Centrists forced him to go for a second ref. Now those same centrists are blaming him.

If he hadn’t hidden during the referendum campaign and instead explained why leaving the EU would be a clusterfûck for the working class it may have stopped the insane enthusiasm to ‘get Brexit done”.

The centrists are blaming him for being unelectable and incompetent, not for his equivocation on Brexit.

Ebo, mun, you’re missing something about the Corbyn project you really do need to be hip to. Here, let Paul Mason spell it out for you in an article from The Independent:

”...the actual membership of Labour, and its core vote, is drawn from the educated, salaried, cosmopolitan and pro-global modern workforce of big conurbations.”

Not only did the Trots not represent you - they DIDN’T WANT TO REPRESENT YOU. You, those you love and socialise with are just a hindrance to their vision of progress not a source of inspiration.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

All this it’s Corbyn who is to blame is absolute nonsense.
2017 he had a very good election with labour. That was when the Labour Party had said in its manifesto that they would respect the Brexit result. Fast forward to 2019 general election where they intended to betray the result of the referendum and the end result for labour- they get absolutely smashed. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

“And among those who did vote for Labour in 2017 but did not in 2019 it was broadly the same story, with 37% citing Mr Corbyn, while only 21% said it was over their stance on Brexit.”

What were the reasons of the other 42% out of interest?

This poll suggests that 63% that abandoned labour didn’t do it because of Corbyn.

Absolute nonsense, doesn’t surprise me coming from you.
Brexit betrayal was the main reason why labour failed, but if you get some crumbs of comfort you carry on believing that cr@p.

Mostly Corbynite policies, economics, trust, defence, anti-Semitism...

So Corbyn, basically.

So that should be included in the Corbyn category.

The poll is incredibly thorough.

The summary of it just, you know, summarises it.

And there’s a difference between people saying ‘Corbyn as leader’ and saying ‘economic pledges’. Which is why they’re separated out.

The reasons they didn’t vote labour according to the link posted is leadership 37% and brexit 21%. It’s a valid question to ask what the other 42% was because the link doesn’t make it clear.

The reasons the ex Labour voters voted that way. The general result was 43% leadership, 17% brexit and 12% economic policies.

The remaining percentage (of both groupings) will be lots of different stuff each of which doesn’t begin to register anywhere near as highly. So anti semitism will be one. Defence will be one (the whole Trident - will you push a button nonsense) etc etc.

The reason Labour leadership and momentum are keen to emphasise brexit as an excuse is that the policy was decided by conference not by the leadership. So they can point to centrists and say - it’s your fault. The polls show they’re wrong. The Ashcroft poll and report is very detailed.

Yes so surely the “Corbyn” option should be a lot higher? The percentage seems ridiculously low considering he is pretty much responsible for almost all the other options.

Yes pushed into it but he then sat on the fence, I'm neutral about it he said. Despite Thornberry and others saying they'd get a new, better deal AND saying they'd campaign for remain.
How can you trust a leadership/shadow cabinet where they all seemed to be saying whatever they wanted? What about collective responsibility? Ultimately Corbyn carries that because he couldn't keep them all in line and as a result....Bojo.

The leader is expected to lead, Corbyn didn't all too often. Bojo is what he is but the message from the Tories was consistent, I didn't see/hear current any tory cabinet members undermine Bojo. In fact most of them kept rpeating his lies, 50,000 new nurses etc.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

As has been pointed out, it was not much to do with brexit

Corbyn , momentum and mclusky were the reason

True but they’ve all taken a massive hit. Even in Neath the labour vote tanked by about 14%. Neath would be one of the last seats to stay labour if all of the others fell. It’s always been one of the safest in the country but now her majority is ‘only’ 5000.

It’s remarkable stuff and just shows how much they have failed.
