If you want to drive there on a public highway as you are entitled to do so then you are forced to pay.

It starts at £2 so that people think 'that's not so bad'. Give it a couple of years it'll be a tenner. Or maybe a tenner to get out of the vermin infested place.

| The Welsh news just now on 19:55 - Jan 16 with 553 views | bennytheblue | They will need to sort public transport out first. Trains heading in are often so full people can’t get on, being so unreliable people have to drive. Also HRMC, bbc and a few other big employers are moving into central square soon, 4000 jobs, how will all these people get to place of work? It’s going to be interesting and that’s without factoring in the 20,000 houses they are currently building from Radyr out to st fagans with no new rds. Traffic chaos awaits | | | |

I lived in Radyr for a few years, it's only about 4 miles from the city centre but to get into the city during rush hour you really have to Battle your way in , sometimes it can take up to an hour and then the same coming back home soul destroying. My guess is it's got much worse over the years and with this this new situation it will be just awful.

It's just a matter of time, Swansea will have it one day, we need to improve buses and have more park and rides for every City! Maybe even put the cost of car tax up and add some to petrol there are too many people driving and cars on the road, it can't continue at this rate!

Yeah I used to live there 25 years ago, it was bad then, with traffic backed up llantrisant rd to the Radyr junction. I dread to think what it’s like now and they’ve only just begun building all those houses.

Parts of London has had these charges under various names for years. Not done much good for either congestion or pollution there...but has raised an awful lot of money spent on.....public transport?

Well it’s certainly reduced congestion in the charging zones. And with it air quality would have improved. And London has one of the best public transport systems in the world. But apart from all that, spot on there.

You wouldn’t notice it if you were there all the time, but London stinks. It hits you the second you get off the train. It’s to be expected to a certain extent though with the millions of people.

If it takes an hour to drive four miles then the only logical solution is to leave the car at home and walk. Or take some level of public transport.

When weather permits bike or even E scooter? Just bought one - 8 mile range, 15mph and 2-3 hrs to charge. Foldable, quite light (7kg) <£200. Charge it in work even? As long as you respect pedestrians etc. avoid hassle?!

Yeah agree. Bought one about two years back. Folds up and goes a long way in a charge. I don't use it for commuting but great for rides along Aberavon seafront ,Swansea to mumbles etc. Taken it to the isle of Wight etc plan to take it to Spain this year, cost £100 return. My neighbours must think I'm fit as fork seeing me peddle up the hill. But one of these will get you to work in a fraction of the time, granted.
