First football kit 22:29 - Mar 23 with 1549 viewsSwanjaxs

When I was about 6 my old man bought me the yellow Leeds away kit (with the smiley face badge)

Come on lads fess up.

It's not a hanging offense if it's not a Swans kit

You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.

An Everton home kit was my first one.

My first kit was the one from the old 1st division, the one with the badge in the middle made by Patrick. I was 7, I still have it, much to my kids amusement.

That was my first kit too.

I've got a photo of me with that kit on, whacking a penalty at immense pace at Mike Hughes (I think) at the Vetch open day.

At least that's how it looks, due to the poor quality of the picture. In reality it just rolled towards him and he picked the ball up and rolled it away, without even the slightest pretence that it had troubled him!

The home Travel house kit with black sleeves.

Had Trundle 10 on the back, even attempted to copy his awful spiky blonde hair at one point.

Didn't it just have one black sleeve and one white one? My son had one of those.

When I was at an age for a first football shirt, I don't think there was such a thing as replica football kits but the first football shirt I can remember was probably Xmas 1957 or thereabouts when we still lived in Sketty and it was royal blue with a white V-neck so looked something like the Everton shirt of that era not that I was even aware of that at the time, it was just a football shirt.

Hi Dave, if you'd stood in a bowl, you'd have looked like a subbuteo player.

I had the no.9 tags, probably worth a bit now wherever they are.

I think mine were dark blue with white number. I'd forgot about the tassels. I didn't even know who number 9 was and then when I did I thought he was Welsh for years.

Thanks Mike! But wouldn't everybody? BTW, how is the lockdown going in Spain? We've only had couple of days of it so far but you're a week or 2 ahead of us. At least we've got a bit of decent weather at the moment so I'm sitting in the garden but I was supposed to be in Iceland all this week so I'm a bit pissed off tbh. Give my regards to Cat.

You can still go to Iceland, but no stockpiling!

We're fine, just bored. Going to supermarket tomorrow, highlight of the week!

Take care

All the best
