"puts the needs of the many ahead of the needs of the rich and powerful"

But thats what Corbyn was preaching yes?
[Post edited 26 Mar 2020 11:59]

That was only part of the message, the part most people liked. It was how he intended to look after the needs of the many that was the problem, people were worried by his financial plans amongst other things.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

The people of this country were fed a diet on untruths and smears. They have the government they deserve now so they can wallow in it.

It's funny how we don't hear about anti-semitism anymore isn't it?

We don't hear about anything much besides the Corona virus. As for the rest, politicans alays lie to us, Corbyn lied to us and the things you may call smears, well other people might say you were choosing to ignore the truth.

Perception is everything.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Whilst his party simultaneously and routinely insinuated a large portion of their support was racist, stupid, uninformed and uneducated. It’s got to the point that it seems a large number of labour MP’s hate the working class more than they hate the Tories.

From Thornberry’s sneering at the white van man and the English flag to Abbott’s constant race baiting, Corbyn and McDonnell’s overt support for those terrorist groups who actively hate Britain and kill our soldiers. And the overall parties general projection of brexit voters as far right thick bigoted fascists.

Not all of this is Corbyns fault of course. It’s a general malaise that has settled over the party and the left in general. For them to fail so spectacularly after ten years of a successive line of
probably the worst and most disorganised and hateful Tory governments in history is just remarkable. And yet they want to carry on regardless.

Come on. You can’t keep blaming murdoch for labours failings. The Sun follows popular opinion, they don’t dictate it. The Sun in Scotland is generally anti Tory, anti brexit because that is the prevailing opinion up there. They follow the public, they don’t lead it. That’s always been their strategy. When it became clear labour would win in 97 they switched allegiances. So they could carry on claiming to be on the winning side. It’s how they market themselves.

And for every paper or tv channel that hates Corbyn there’s one that loves him and treats him like a Demigod.

He failed because he was completely incapable of creating widespread support outside of his own kind. He was brilliant at preaching to the converted but any labour leader and Labour Party if they want to win a general election must attract a certain percentage of votes from the sort of people who usually vote for other parties. Even if it is completely unpalatable to them they have to appeal to the sort of people who usually vote Tory, or at least the people who bounce between the two. None of these candidates stand a chance of doing that in my opinion.

Agree with most of that.
The Tories fear Starmer for his lawyer’s forensic ability to demolish Johnson’s bullshit and bluster, and that he’ll move Labour back towards the centre.
He’s not the most charismatic leader but regularly exposing Johnson’s arse dribble will have a cumulative effect. His shadow cabinet will hopefully be devoid of vote losers like Abbott, Burgon, Gardiner & Co. Add the fallout when Brexshit hits the fan and competence will hopefully trump (arf!) the jovial buffoon’s cheap slogans.

Exactly, apparently when he woke up this morning he turned to Carrie Symonds and said “let’s get breakfast done.”

Unfortunately, his random arm movements he uses to emphasise random words resulted in smacking Carrie in the mouth and therefore porridge for both of them.

I thought it was the cocaine that caused that?
