No, they’re not.

I live here. I leave the house precisely once a day, to walk my dog, for about 45 minutes. It’s awful for the dog, as she’s used to a very active life, but she’s having to make do as well.

I’m pushing no limits. We’ve been a much longer lockdown here than everywhere else, due to the number of cases and danger of infection we have compared to elsewhere in the country.

I haven’t used public transport for 4 and half weeks and haven’t visited a supermarket for 3 and half weeks. In fact, I haven’t left the house at all apart from walking the dog.

Every one around here is staying in. They are taking one stroll, or run, or cycle once a day, respecting distancing far greater than 2 metres. It’s not even slightly irresponsible. We have a far bigger risk than you do, and no one is blasé about that.

So f*** off.

You are not taking a leisurely stroll through the park or the beachfront are you. It's awful for your dog, but a lot worse for those on ventilators.

It's a simple instruction that even a child could follow. Stay in unless it's absolutely necessary

Obviously it’s worse for people affected you complete prat. Which is why we are all staying in.

A walk once a day is recommended. If you live near places you can walk to it’s fine. Getting in a car and driving to those places is not. Sitting around and sunbathing or having a BBQ is not.

It is a simple instruction. You are distorting it.

I haven’t missed your point.

Posters who are lucky enough to live by the front can walk along the front as part of their daily walk. Same with a park.

People aren’t traveling to get to those places. If they are, that’s wrong. But they’re not as far as I’ve seen people say on here.

The instructions are simple, and you are correct in assuming a child should be able to follow them.

So, why dont you seem to be able to?

You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.

As was predicted when our guidelines were announced, as lot of people found themselves starting a new exercise program of nothing but long walks. All within the letter of the rules, of course. It's "essential", for the first time in 40+ years.

No surprise guidelines then have to get stricter. People don't realise there's a pandemic on, it's all me me me.

There are definitely more people getting out for walks when they’d previously be happy being a couch potato for their entire life. I suppose it makes up for not getting out to go to work etc.
I’ve gone on runs for years and will continue to do so sensibly within the government guidelines. If they ban it, I’ll stop immediately. Thankfully I’m not in a busy town centre, I bet it’s a right pain in London.

Apart from walking my dogs once a day whilst observing the safe distancing procedure i indeed stay in...

Then i go to work as I'm a key worker.

You seem to be struggling to understand government guidelines for some reason though.

Any specific reason for that?

At last, someone who understands the seriousness of the situation. It's not measles, this is killing thousands of all ages and physical conditions. If they don't care about themselves, think of others who may get infected and the health workers who have to look after them.

Stay at home and exercise there, there's enough demos on youtube. Going for leisurely walks in the park or seafront is sending out the wrong message. As you stated, it's all about me , me me, and what i can get away with.

It is a pain.

Can only really walk around local residential streets.

But people used to leave the house to go to shops, work, socialising, whatever, even if not for exercise as such. Taking one short walk a day is essential for mental health even if nothing else.

A very small one, but I exercise in my house. If it was raining I wouldn't be able to go outside, so I look upon it that way. I used to go to the gym, but obviously I can't, so I just have to suck it up and put up with the inconvenience. It won't last for ever if people comply.

So if you live 50 yds from the seafront lets say in Mumbles, are you saying you cant go for a stroll along the front, because if that's what your saying you are wrong, as that's just the same as me walking around my estate. As the advice is walk in your locality
You've got it wrong, read the advice from the Government. It will make all our lives easier, on here anyway.

Dread to think of the strain on mental health services after all of this, especially if we go full lockdown...also people coping with losses etc.

So thankful that I have a garden, can’t imagine what it would be like in this weather especially. I assume you have limited outdoor space (if any) living in London, Lisa. Essential to try and get out and about safely for people in that position.

If anything, I’ve experience people giving far more space than the guidelines ask for. Quite often I’ve had people crossing roads for me to run through or vice versa.

It doesn’t matter if it’s small.

Being able to get fresh air is a massive difference. Whether it’s raining or not. You can step outside. There are loads of people (particularly in poorer areas) who are stuck in an airless flat, with children.

They HAVE to get out once a day. It’s why even the worst offending prisoners around the world are allowed an hour a day outside.

Don’t you understand that people are in different situations to you? It has nothing to do with bloody gym type exercise, the government are attempting to stop people going mad.

It’s not inconvenience that’s the issue - it’s mental health, domestic abuse cases, child abuse. Stop being so self absorbed and assuming everyone is living your life.

I’m very lucky that I have a garden.

Many up here don’t.

But with the odd exception, getting less and less I think, people are being sensible. Most people are giving each other a very wide berth. No cars around makes it easier as we can walk along the middle of the street. We all cross over to avoid each other, or step into the road.
