A bit of info, but I'm sure things are very fluid. https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/efl-letter-emerge

Flipping heck that's almost what I said. Something to look forward to at last. Maybe.

This is what the UFC are doing on the 18th of April and the WWE just successfully did the same at the weekend, probably a lot easier than doing it for football games around the country but proves it certainly is doable if implemented safely and correctly.

By the time June comes along the players would not have played a competitive game for 3 months, it would take them at least 4 friendly games to get anywhere near match fitness.

Does not matter as both teams will be in that boat.

Yes, but it will be a farce.

This season is over, the way it’s looking we’ll be lucky to see next season starting on time.

Why the games will still be entertaining if it means finishing the season all be it the players may be not quite as match fit just do it mun, and you need to stop being such a depressing doom and gloom merchant and just wait to see how things pan out.

100% agree Lifey, have lost all interest with what's going on.

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

Just being realistic, thousands of people are dying in the country mun, that’s how things are panning out. The season is over.. get used to it.

You do not know how things will be in June, your just another speculator, I`ll accept it when it`s announced and you should do the same and stop being such an uninspiring gloom merchant.

June is 7 weeks away, do you seriously think that things will be up and running as normal by then? Take an educated guess.

Spot on buddy, a large dose of realism is needed with some.

Finish the season off behind closed doors with TV coverage. Hope things are back up and running for August. About the best we can do.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I read somewhere that they’ll be automatically extended until the season is finished.

Normal doubtful, behind closed doors who knows, just wait and see what happen,s you and your guessing lol one thing is for certain I suppose your response will be hey I guessed right, or whoops I guessed wrong, but at the end of the day you really are just guessing and predicting the worse.

assuming there may be some slackening of social distancing in 6-8 weeks for essential work, I think you'd have a job to make a health case for stacks of players in close contact on a regular basis and going back to their families etc There will be some concessions but a series of rapid football matches cannot be high on the list however much we all are missing it.

You do realise it would be a logistical nightmare, for one thing each player would need a virus test as its a contact sport, including TV camera men, and coaching staff, and as for testing at the moment there is not enough to go around.

This.
And if NHS staff are still needed to be tested, then no way should footballers be given it ahead of them.

Quite a few of ours don't get within 2 metres of the opposition, so no change for them

The point is a good one

Hence "the best we can do". It's very much the best case scenario depending on where we are in May. Worst case is the season doesn't finish at all.
