£3.7Bn for the BBC 22:42 - Apr 11 with 2066 views | JACKMANANDBOY | https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/apr/11/the-g Not good value imo. Too much opinion and subjectivity in the Worldwide Pandemic, other channels much better on what's happening internationally. The week of constant pictures of empty supermarket shelves on the front pages of websites and news bulletins at the start of March was far from what a public service broadcaster should be doing, coverage is fine promoting issues is another. I think it is time for the luvvies to earn their money and scrap the licence fee Edit to give free to view link. [Post edited 12 Apr 2020 19:49]

Alternative perspective posted intentionally, a point of view rather than a campaign.

Oh bollocks, have replaced the article with a Guardian one that gives the case for keeping the fee, wanted to present an alternative view. I'm getting to old for all this. Many apologies [Post edited 12 Apr 2020 19:51]

A friend of mine reckons that the BBC is underrated. He says you’ll miss it if it’s gone and I-Player has kept him sane during the lockdown. He particularly enjoys programmes like Montalbano and Twin. They could do better though he reckons and Lineker should be furloughed. Wouldn’t know myself. [Post edited 12 Apr 2020 23:38]

Radio? Just out of interest. What news feeds do you pay for, and how much do they cost? The Daily Mail is more expensive than the BBC. [Post edited 13 Apr 2020 2:48]

£3.7Bn for the BBC on 09:37 - Apr 13 with 1466 views | Kilkennyjack | BBC should close down tomorrow. Any funding should go directly to the nations and regions of the UK. According to the unthinking and lazy BBC we have the best everything in the world ...from Parliament to the Royal Family to the Army and the even the England football team. It is bollox. Biased Tory apologists. Brexit enablers. Feck right off.

Just saying it won’t make it happen. Everyone knows we need widespread testing. But antibody tests are more important even than antigen tests. You just have to find some that work. At the moment, none seem to. Antigen tests in the meantime are hugely important, but you can’t just say - ‘do more’.

You're right, they have been a complete disgrace. I never thought I'd advocate state control of the national media, but it's clear to anyone, other than those with a mischievous brain, at this time the country needs to pull together as one, and not be marginalised by the constant questioning that's happening on the 24 hour news channels. The time for tactical analysis and introspection will arrive some time in the future. and at that time people will be able to consider things more logically, without being hyped up by the media.

I re-watched the Louis Theroux episodes, and listen to The Archers on Radio 4 when driving to work with a hangover.
