For years, people have tried to bring an end to segregation, then you get this!

I despair!

It’s not dissimilar from the kinds of accepted segregation we have today. Things like all women’s spa’s etc. It’s about certain people feeling more comfortable within their surroundings with similar people around them. It is everywhere in society, is generally positive and nothing to despair about. Plus unless you’re black, you’re not welcome there anyway so you’re getting your knickers in a twist for no reason. Unless of course you’re trying to stir the pot, which you evidently are.

Stir the pot?

Nope,

You carry on thinking that way though

Try opening a ‘white only’ establishment, town, venue, then see how you get on.

You have that all the time in the UK, Brixton is mainly black, Southall is known to be a Pakistani area.

When I moved to Edmonton in Canada I was recommended to move to an area known as Sherwood Park as a lot of British live there (I didn't chose that area).

Unfortunately its as said above, people like to live in surroundings where they feel comfortable and this means that communities remain segregated and this to me is part of the cause of mistrust and discrimiation.

"Try opening a ‘white only’ establishment, town, venue, then see how you get on."

Totally daft statement from you. Most golf clubs in the UK are probably 100% white - (there will be exceptions of course) - they don't need to put a sign on the clubhouse door saying "No Blacks". It's just the way it is.

White only venues aren't there by design, they're just the default position in a white majority country.

I occasionally used to go to a pub that was almost entirely frequented by British West Indians and I got a more friendly welcome in their than I suspect an Asian would if he had the nerve to cross the threshold of, say, Keighley golf club.

Hang on, there is a vast difference between being white only because no non whites have joined and being an only whites allowed club!

I remember being a member of a social club, back in the 80's it still had a men only bar but that went as equality started to set in, as was right.

We shouldn't have any clubs, organisations and definitely no towns that are "only" for any gender, group, colour or creed.

Obviously, if you don't like what the club provides (lets say snooker or photography as eamples) then you likley won't want to go but being barred from membership because of colour is dead wrong.

That town in South Africa isn't just whites only either, it's Afrikaners only so I couldn't live there and I wouldn't want to, it's full of old Boers.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Does anyone personally know a socialist golfer? Just asking 😂

I'm sure there must be one somewhere in the country.

There's segregation to a certain extent in many parts. For instance, Golders Green, Stamford Hill, Edgeware, all in London, have a 35-40% Jewish population. They need to mix a bit more perhaps.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

I know one who claims to be a communist, he was a financial advisor for 30+ years
Always tickles me.

I hardly ever get to play golf, which is just as well as I'm crap at it, but the last couple of times I have been I have played with a mate who isn't white, I wasn't paying much attention to everybody's ethnicity on my visits but your post has caused me to mull it over and I can recall at least 2 people playing who were non-white.

...and as Cat pointed out, golf clubs in the UK certainly don't exclude anyone, as far as I am aware.
