Oppression/Racism/Slavery 01:31 - Sep 23 with 5109 viewsDr_Parnassus

For the millennials in the UK and the US who forgot what it actually is:-

https://amp.smh.com.au/world/a

This is what is happening in China at the moment. 500,000 Tibetans forced into labour camps. Not to mention the Uyghur Muslims that are being rounded up onto trains and put into camps in an attempt to ethically cleanse the country.

In Iran people have been hung this week for ACTUALLY peacefully protesting, not the CNN version of peaceful protests.

So while the NBA and LeBron James are stirring racial tensions in the West by pushing a false oppression narrative that absolutely nobody can articulate (whilst taking huge contracts from China and banning anyone speaking out about them)... take a moment to actually reflect on what racism, oppression and slavery ACTUALLY is.

These people crying oppression are some of the most privileged people in the world today. The privilege and freedom enjoyed that has enabled them to burn cities to the ground, intimidate politicians and attack civilian political opposition with impunity and no real threat of consequence is incredible.

For shame.

Not at all.Why say that.
I 'll crack on thanks

We have a generation of lower than average earners who work their bollocks off whilst feckles fookers do nothing but wait for the State benefits. You know this a you see it in your job so don't make out it aint the case.

You could be accused ,because of your political views of tarring everyone with the same brush too.

People who do their best, who work their rocks off, take risks are the ones we should truly look after and support in these times.

Thanks

Correct!

Still deluded their was widespread poverty throughout the UK before the welfare state was created.

Yes - but 1 million people were not starved to death by ‘their own’ government in a genocide.

One.million.people.

No it wasn’t, mun! The UK Govt. practically bankrupted itself on famine relief, but bear in mind tax raising powers then bear no relation to those of today.

Consult the histories, Killy. Hunger stalked continental Europe as a whole but what made Ireland uniquely susceptible to famine was its reliance on a mono-crop.

I’m not for one second down-playing the horror but to say it was deliberately inflicted simply isn’t true.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

One Trevelyan story and one quote suffice:

“British Coastguard Inspector-General, Sir James Dombrain, when he saw starving paupers, ordered his subordinates to give free food handouts. For his attempts to feed the starving, Dombrain was publicly rebuked by Trevelyan…”

The Trevelyan quote is, “The real evil with which we have to contend is not the physical evil of the Famine but the moral evil of the selfish, perverse and turbulent character of the people.”

The dehumanisation of the Irish people meant that the people who could have helped chose not to help. Unforgivable and quite deliberate cruelty.

Quotes like that are ten a penny and I find it impossible to believe that more than one in ten are even halfway genuine, Killy.

I’ve moved in British Nationalist circles all my life and and far from “dehumanising’ the Irish I’ve only ever heard them being talked of in terms of ‘family.’

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

Tell that to millions of people across South America Asia and Africa. In Europe of course poverty is relative.

Which history books did you have in mind? Maybe I already have read them, I like to read.

He was talking about the UK, so butt out.

OOOOOHHHHHH

If you think no one in the UK is in genuine poverty then I expect you've been reading the Express again. I'd say try the BBC but of course you believe they are untrustworthy....compared to the Express that is hysterical.

Lets keep the Irish debate simple,

http://www.askaboutireland.ie/

We didn't cause the blight (by we I mean GB/UK/Westminster) but did not do enough to help. The evidence is there.

Loh, of course many saw the Irish as family, I have Irish family myself but still, many also saw the Irish as unwanted on the mainland.

https://eachother.org.uk/racis

No Blacks, no dogs, no Irish was a common enough sign.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?
