Lockdown once again completely pointless. I visited a well known retailer today for some odds and sods, the one with the jingly arse smack. Must have been a hundred people queuing outside, and more joining behind me, when i got inside it was absolutely rammed, no social distancing going on, people queuing up the aisles, must have been at least twenty people to an aisle. So I gave up and went to the local shop for local people, it was quite busy in there too.

There’s no science to suggest that the virus lurks down the “non essential goods” (still not clarified what constitutes non essential btw) aisles of shops. They are making stupid arbitrary knee jerk decisions that are seriously affecting and in a lot of cases ruining people’s lives.

Even though Drakeford acted first, he wasted over a week writing to Johnson, twice and waiting for a reply. Does he know we have phones? Ring the plonker and get a definitive answer and then act. By waiting over a week it made the lockdown less likely to be as effective because of all those extra transmissions while he dithered.
Where I disagree with Andy and HJ is, you can say we need to live with this virus and I think that may be the case but, when our hospitals are again full to overloaded with Covid cases, when so many staff are off sick or even in a hospital bed themselves, where do we put the people who need regular treatment and who carries out their treatment? This virus has mutated a few times and we don't yet know the effedts of the newer strains.
We have to keep the case numbers down so our hospitals aren't swamped. They have plenty of experts, all the top doctors but what is the point when the politicians aren't listening OR aren't acting quickly enough?
The fact is none of the Uk governments has found the right balance yet.

The science said it was spread more in the home, pubs and at schools and Uni's. Closing local shops forced more people into the supermarkets, those same supermarkets having less space because aisles were closed.
Wouldn't they have been better off closing pubs and leaving shops open?

The short sharp shock had not worked 7 day infection rate is now higher than before lockdown and the lockdown in other parts of Wales ranging from 1 months to 2 months has not worked either. Drippy Drakeford has not backed himself into a corner he cannot extend lockdown or limit travel within Wales so the infection rate will stay the highest of the four nation.

Kilk, I did not literally mean a "cure" but the lockdown has ended before they even have a clue if it worked. Drakeford backed the Senedd into a corner by insisting it wouldn't be extended.
If, in 2 weeks the stats show the lockdown didn't work, what happens? Do we have another 2 weeks of it? Do we keep going in, out, in, out? Wouldn't it be better to have a longer term plan? Or are you happy to see the pubs heaving, rules being broken and the virus spread even more on the "last night of freedom" before the next lockdown?
