Should lockdown in Wales end on Monday, given wales' infection is highest in uk on 22:21 - Nov 8 by felixstowe_jack
The short sharp shock had not worked 7 day infection rate is now higher than before lockdown and the lockdown in other parts of Wales ranging from 1 months to 2 months has not worked either. Drippy Drakeford has not backed himself into a corner he cannot extend lockdown or limit travel within Wales so the infection rate will stay the highest of the four nation.
I get our rate may be worse now than when lockdown started because it was on a steep upward trajectory and it takes time to reel it back in, but the last 7 days are certainly showing an improvement in most parts of Wales.
I think calling the tirebreak was a decent shout, but I do agree with you that Drakers should have kept his options open, especially in places like the Valleys where the rates a3 still high. Sadly, there’s a bunch of people out there who are quite irresponsible.
Check out the below, the guy is a decen5 source of info.

You are missing the point thats its not a cure.
Its a short sharp shock recommended by the scientists to stop/reduce transmissions so that the NHS is not over whelmed. It is a blunt instrument and the timing was important. Welsh Government acted, whereas the Johnson government did nothing until it was too late - thousands will die as a direct result. Then Johnson copied Wales but for longer. Again too late.
Getting things back open on 09/11 in Wales was promised at the start. I think its important a government does what they say. U-turn Johnson should try it.
The virus is with us. Following science is good. Thinking lockdowns are cures is incorrect, please do better.
you sir, are a buffoon.

Good to see the 14 day daily average in UK has been level for 14 days. Hopefully it will now start to fall with England in lockdown and 3 more areas in Scotland moving into a higher tier.

Top post.
Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.
For buffoons ,read about the 200 d1ckwads who are demonstating today in Bristol against any lockdown as it's FREEDOM issue-nothing to do with health at all.
If you're going to refer to people as buffoons ,choose correctly.
Come to think of it, use it for those who,as soon as its over ,go the the pub etc and start spreading it again.
I would love to shut 70% of our pubs and shut them at 10 pm and all day Sunday.

And in Liverpool today.
I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.
Looks like the two week lockdown failed as dippy Drakeford imposes more restrictions across Wales. The same restrictions apply in the high hot spots and the very low areas which have been low for months.

It was always going to fail. It was too strict, too short and too late. It just made everywhere that was closed much busier on the day they reopened. Areas of high infection came out of the firebreak with less restrictions than when they went in to local lockdown despite having a higher level of infection.
It now looks if we are going to similar restrictions level 3 in Scotland where indoor entertainment needs to close, no alcohol can be sold in hospitality venues and they need to close at 6. It is a complete farce.

Wales as with the other 3 UK countries the government is dammed if they do and dammed if they don't.

Good to see that all the efforts at great expense by businesses in following SAGE/Government guidelines has been ignored . Never mind it's not the likes of Drakeford whos going to take a financial hit, he and his like are protected whereas the likes of restaurant owners must be thinking all that time and expense in getting their businesses covid protected only to see it wasted. You can go to a gym but not a bowling alley whats that about ?
